<html><head></head><body><div><div><div><div><br></div>John 9;6-12<div><br></div><div><b>6. &nbsp;As he </b>(Jesus) <b>said this, </b>(about being the light of the world)&nbsp;<b>he spat on the ground and made clay of the spittle and anointed the man’s eyes with the clay,</b></div><div><b>7. &nbsp;saying to him, “Go, wash in the pool of Siloam” (which means Sent). &nbsp;So he went and washed and came back seeing.</b></div><div><b>8. &nbsp;The neighbors and those who had seen him before as a beggar, said, “Is this not the man who used to sit and beg?”</b></div><div><b>9. &nbsp;Some said, “It is he”; others said, “No, but he is like him.” He said, “I am the man.”</b></div><div><b>10. &nbsp;They said to him, “Then how were your eyes opened?”</b></div><div><b>11. &nbsp;He answered, “The man called Jesus made clay and anointed my eyes and said to me, ‘Go to Siloam and wash’; so I went and washed and received my sight.”</b></div><div><b>12. &nbsp;They said to him, “Where is he?” &nbsp;He said, “I do not know.”</b></div><div><b><br></b></div><div>The utter blindness of the man was a physical reality, so also the clay, the Pool of Siloam, and the miraculous gift of sight. &nbsp;This event actually occurred. &nbsp;It was another supernatural sign which testified to who Jesus was and is. &nbsp;Yet, this sign&nbsp;contains for us&nbsp;more than a&nbsp;physical testimony concerning Jesus’ divine&nbsp;identity. &nbsp;There is also&nbsp;wonderful deeper spiritual meaning for us all.</div><div><br></div><div>Before the blind man was in darkness (signifying sin and death), Jesus, the light of the world, does not only give him physical sight. &nbsp;He gives him spiritual vision, and&nbsp;an entirely&nbsp;new life. &nbsp;Before he was a beggar with nothing to offer, a filthy&nbsp;burden on society. &nbsp;Now, he is given a gift and a&nbsp;testimony. &nbsp;He was commanded to <i>“wash”, </i>(this was not true baptism, but it certainly points us to baptism). &nbsp;From the pool called <i>“Sent”, </i>he&nbsp;received cleansing and&nbsp;the gift of sight, not just his own physical vision, but the true sight which ‘sees’ who Jesus truly is. &nbsp;The Messiah of God.</div><div>As Nicodemus testified to Jesus saying, <i>“Rabbi, we know that &nbsp;you are a teacher come from God, for no one&nbsp;can&nbsp;do these signs that</i><i>&nbsp;you do, unless God is with him”.&nbsp;</i><span>(John 3;2)</span></div><div><span><br></span></div><div><span>Now the beggar has something to offer the world, his own&nbsp;witness and testimony to Jesus as the Christ. &nbsp;The beggar is no longer poor, he is rich. &nbsp;He is&nbsp;no longer in poverty asking for bread. &nbsp;He now,&nbsp;from&nbsp;his own wealth, is&nbsp;giving living bread, proclaiming Jesus.</span></div><div><span><br></span></div><div><span>He himself has become a sort of&nbsp;‘<i>pool of Siloam’ . &nbsp;</i>He is&nbsp;flowing with streams of&nbsp;living water. &nbsp;Just as we are all “<i>sent”, </i>we too come from the waters of baptism, rich with the good news of Jesus to proclaim. &nbsp;Our spiritual sight has also been gifted to us, faith has been given us to know who Jesus is AND to know now who we are, having been baptized into him, we have become&nbsp;‘sent ones’.</span></div><div><span><br></span></div><div><span>Those who knew him before recognized the change in the man. &nbsp;And, the man confesses who he once was, but is no longer. &nbsp;<i>“I am the man” </i>(who <u>used</u>&nbsp;to be a bling beggar, but now sees). &nbsp;We too have been transformed by the washing of regeneration. &nbsp;</span></div><div><span><br></span></div><div><span>Prayer: &nbsp;Merciful Father, make us bold to proclaim the rich&nbsp;gifts of forgiveness, true sight (the ‘light’.&nbsp; of&nbsp;true faith), and&nbsp;newness of purposeful fruitful&nbsp;life, which you have given us in Jesus. &nbsp;In Jesus we pray, Amen.</span></div><div><span><br></span></div><div><span>Love,</span></div><div><span>Dad/Baba/Eric</span></div><div><span>Grandpa Pickle Pastor</span></div><div><span>“A chapter a day, every day, progressively, be transformed, ‘soak’ in the living Word.”</span></div><div><b><br></b><br><br><a href="https://overview.mail.yahoo.com/?.src=iOS" rel="nofollow" target="_blank"></a><br></div></div></div></div></body></html>
