So Simon Peter went aboard and hauled the net ashore, full of large&nbsp;fish, a hundred and fifty-three of them; &nbsp;and although there were so many, the net was not torn.</b></div><div><b>12. &nbsp;Jesus said to them, “Come and have breakfast.” &nbsp;Now none of the disciples dared ask him, “Who are you?” &nbsp;They knew it was the Lord.</b></div><div><b>13. &nbsp;Jesus came and took the bread and gave it to them, and so with the fish.</b></div><div><b>14. &nbsp;This was now the third time that Jesus was revealed to the disciples after he was raised from the dead.</b></div><div><b><br></b></div><div dir="ltr" data-setdir="false">This was no ordinary breakfast.&nbsp; This is the Savior's silent sermon.</div><div><br></div><div>Usually, when a group of just&nbsp;men get together for&nbsp;breakfast, there is much laughter and bantering going on. &nbsp;Men enjoy humor, especially kind hearted&nbsp;teasing and mocking of themselves and&nbsp;each other.&nbsp; Men enjoy the company of men, the proprieties are set aside a little and men’s breakfasts are quite relaxed, sometimes a little crude.</div><div><br></div><div>&nbsp;&nbsp;(Mixed company meals are&nbsp;also wonderful, but different. &nbsp;When men are blessed to have&nbsp;the ladies add&nbsp;their&nbsp;presence to the assembly,<span>&nbsp;men must be more considerate and display better manners. They need to watch what they say…and do, a little more. &nbsp;The atmosphere is different.)</span></div><div><span><br></span></div><div><span>This particular breakfast with Jesus was no ordinary men's breakfast. &nbsp;There was a reverent, even awed quiet and careful attentiveness most uncommon. &nbsp;I expect the disciples were more than a little anxious. &nbsp;</span></div><div><span><br></span></div><div><span>They knew they were in the very presence of God incarnate. &nbsp;Their own resurrected Lord. &nbsp;They probably nervously&nbsp;gazed again at the nail prints in his hands and feet, then at his face, then at one another. No one said anything.</span></div><div><span><br></span></div><div><span>Jesus broke the silence, <i>“Come, have breakfast” &nbsp;</i>says the ‘LORD of the entire&nbsp;Universe’. &nbsp;The soft sound of the lapping waves, perhaps the cry of a gull in their ears. &nbsp;No one said a thing as the first rays of sun peeped over the Galilean horizon. &nbsp;Their Lord blesses the bread and fish (fish already prepared before the boat gets to shore) and distributes them to the disciples. &nbsp;Another ‘Deja Vu’ moment,… (when Jesus asked Philip,<i>&nbsp;“How are we to buy bread, so that these may eat?</i><i>” &nbsp;</i>A teaching about God’s pleasure to&nbsp;provide.)</span></div><div><br></div><div>The Savior is silently reminding them of the&nbsp;very real divine resources&nbsp;which he can supply when believers seek first the kingdom and prioritize his Word over ‘making a living’.<br><br>There is a sense of loving rebuke hanging in the air. &nbsp;The disciple’s silence was evidence they realized they had gone&nbsp;off track, they were no longer called to be just fishermen, and neither are we.</div><div><br></div><div>Prayer: &nbsp;Merciful Father, forgive us for not faithfully seeking first your kingdom and your righteousness. &nbsp;We too become off track, preoccupied with earthly concerns. &nbsp;We allow ourselves to be&nbsp;so earthly minded, we are not much heavenly good. &nbsp;Bless us Father to truly be devoted to your transforming, sanctifying&nbsp;Word daily&nbsp;in our lives,&nbsp;in our thoughts,&nbsp;filling our prayers, and guiding our priorities. &nbsp;We are certainly in this world, with earthly responsibilities, but we are no longer <i>“of this world”. &nbsp;</i>Bless us to never allow our earthly responsibilities&nbsp;to&nbsp;come before you and your divine&nbsp;purposes for us. &nbsp;<span>In Jesus we pray, Amen.</span></div><div><i></i></div><div><i><br></i></div><div>Love,</div><div>Dad/Baba/Eric</div><div>Grandpa Pickle Pastor</div><div>“A chapter a day, every day, progressively, be transformed, ‘soak’ in the living Word.”<br><a href="https://overview.mail.yahoo.com/?.src=iOS" rel="nofollow" target="_blank"></a><br></div></div></div></div></body></html>
