<html><head></head><body><div><div><div><div><br></div>Acts 5;34-39<div><br></div><div><b>34. &nbsp;But a Pharisee in the council named Gamali-el, a teacher of the law, held in honor by all the people, stood up and ordered the men to be put outside for a while.</b></div><div><b>35. &nbsp;And he said to them, “Men of Israel, take care what you do with these men.</b></div><div><b>36. &nbsp;For before these days Theudas arose, giving himself out to be&nbsp;somebody, and a number of men, about four hundred,&nbsp;joined him; but he was slain and all who followed him were dispersed and came to nothing.</b></div><div><b>37. &nbsp;After him Judas the Galilean arose in the days of the census and drew away some of the people after him; he also perished and all who followed him were scattered.</b></div><div><b>38. &nbsp;So in the present case I tell you, keep away from these men and let them alone; for if this plan or this undertaking is of men, it will fail;</b></div><div><b>39. &nbsp;but if it is of God, you will not be able to overthrow them. &nbsp;You might even be found opposing God!”</b></div><div><b><br></b></div><div>The Pharisee Gamali-el is also identified as the teacher of the future apostle Paul. (Acts 22;3) This makes him more than a Pharisee and member of the Council, but also a ‘Rabbi’ a scholar of the Law of God and a teacher. &nbsp;He is one who is <i>“held&nbsp;</i><i>honor&nbsp;by all&nbsp;the people”. &nbsp;</i>Such is not said about the high priest and other members of the council who were lovers of money and corrupt.</div><div><br></div><div>&nbsp;We must remember that Nicodemus and Joseph of Arimathea were also members of the council. &nbsp;They were godly Jews who studied the law and whose own lives were faithful and of good standing in the eyes of the people of Israel. &nbsp;These men&nbsp;were open to the possibility that the prophecies concerning the coming Messiah King might be being fulfilled before their very eyes. &nbsp;The Holy Spirit was working upon them.</div><div><br></div><div>Therefore, we must be mindful that not&nbsp;everyone who does&nbsp;not&nbsp;belong&nbsp;to our ‘confession’ are necessarily&nbsp;<span>o</span><span>ur opponents. &nbsp;The Word of God is active and working in other quarters besides our own. &nbsp;We must still uphold what we know to be the truth and trust that those who are </span><i>“of God”, </i><span>(though not of our confession) will,</span><span> by the grace of God recognize the Holy Spirit at work in not only what we teach, but also in us</span><span>&nbsp;as well.</span></div><div><br></div><div>Those of us who have friends who are Jewish and resistant to our attempts to witness the Gospel of Jesus Christ to them, would do well to point out the divine truth of this logic; ‘Works of men&nbsp;perish, while works of God endure through the ages’. &nbsp;The mere existence and endurance&nbsp;of the Church of all true Believers through the ages is a witness to unbelievers of the truth of the Gospel. &nbsp;Jesus is the Messiah King and all else that he says of himself, the very Son of God, the Holy One, God incarnate.</div><div><br></div><div>Prayer: &nbsp;Merciful Father, let the Light of your Truth, dawn in the hearts, minds, souls, and spirits&nbsp;of those born of Abraham. &nbsp;Bless them to hear the truth from Rabbi Gamali-el. &nbsp;In Jesus we pray, Amen.</div><div><br></div><div>Love,</div><div>Dad/Baba/Eric</div><div>Grandpa Pickle Pastor</div><div>“A chapter a day, every day, progressively, be transformed, ‘soak’ in the living Word.”</div><div><br></div><div><br><br><div><a href="https://mail.onelink.me/107872968?pid=nativeplacement&amp;c=Global_Acquisition_YMktg_315_Internal_EmailSignature&amp;af_sub1=Acquisition&amp;af_sub2=Global_YMktg&amp;af_sub3=&amp;af_sub4=100000604&amp;af_sub5=EmailSignature__Static_" rel="nofollow" target="_blank"></a><br></div></div></div></div></div></body></html>
