<html><head></head><body><div><div><div><div><br></div>Ephesians 5;1&amp;2<div><br></div><div><b>1. &nbsp;Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children.</b></div><div><b>2. &nbsp;And walk in love, as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us, a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.</b></div><div><br></div><div>At the moment of Jesus’ baptism, the Holy Spirit descended upon Jesus in the form of a dove.</div><div>The dove as a symbol,&nbsp;is the Herald&nbsp;of&nbsp;gentleness,&nbsp;joy, peace, purity, sacrificial love,&nbsp;and life. &nbsp;It was the dove who brought the olive leave to Noah, signifying the earth was cleansed,&nbsp;renewed, and living, it was safe to depart from the ark.</div><div><br></div><div>Jesus knew his purpose was to <i>“give himself up for us, a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.”</i></div><div>The Holy Spirit came in the form of a dove to signify to us that Jesus is our ark and in him we too are safe in him&nbsp;to go forth into this world&nbsp;walking in cleansed, renewed, lives of sacrificial love.</div><div><br></div><div>On<span> the Day of Pentecost, the Holy Spirit came not as a dove, but as&nbsp;the sound of a mighty rushing wind, (</span><span>powerful)</span></div><div>AND as tongues as of fire resting on each disciple, but this&nbsp;fire did not&nbsp;not consume the disciples. &nbsp;Just as Moses encountered God in&nbsp;the burning bush on Mount Horeb, the burning bush&nbsp;was not consumed. &nbsp;</div><div>God’s love is never exhausted, it never ceases to burn for us and in us.</div><div><br></div><div>We are called to display the fire of God’s love with sacrificial&nbsp;lives of obedience to God&nbsp;<i>“a <u>living</u>&nbsp;sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God”</i>&nbsp; (Romans 12;1&amp;2) and we with and in God are&nbsp;not consumed. &nbsp;Therefore, the same Holy Spirit who reveals Jesus as our ark by the dove, now&nbsp;reveals us, the Church,&nbsp;as being made one with the&nbsp;God!&nbsp; With unending love.&nbsp;</div><div><br></div><div>&nbsp;As God&nbsp;called Moses to deliver the children of Israel, so&nbsp;<span>&nbsp;now we&nbsp;too have been commanded to, </span><i>“Go, make disciples.” &nbsp;</i><span>We are the gatherers of the children of God, using the net of the Gospel.</span></div><div><span><br></span></div><div><span>Even if we physically die in service to our Lord, we are not consumed, we have the resurrection and the Life of Jesus, (the very Love of God)&nbsp;nothing can separate us from this love and Life.</span></div><div><i></i></div><div><br></div><div>Prayer: &nbsp;Merciful Father, grant that by faith in Christ indwelling us and the Holy Spirit empowering us&nbsp;we go forth into the world and, “<i>Let our ‘Light’ so shine before men that they may see our good works, </i>(The ones you prepared for us.
