<html><head></head><body><div><div><div><div><br></div>Ephesians 6;21-24<div><br></div><div><b>21. &nbsp;Now that you&nbsp;also may&nbsp;know how I am and what I am doing, Tychicus the beloved brother and faithful minister in the Lord will tell you everything.</b></div><div><b>22. &nbsp;I have sent him to you for this very purpose, that you may know how we are, and that he may encourage your hearts.</b></div><div><b>23. &nbsp;Peace be to the brethren, and love with faith, from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.</b></div><div><b>24. &nbsp;Grace be with all who love our Lord Jesus Christ with love undying.</b></div><div><b><br></b></div><div>When someone asks us, “How are you?” There are superficial replies such as “Fine, how are you?” which most expect. &nbsp;Most who ask us are just being polite, they do not expect an in-depth accounting of your health, living circumstances, and emotional/mental condition, or of your recent social encounters, they just want to be recognized as being ‘friendly’ and give the appearance of having regard for you. &nbsp;It is all very superficial.</div><div><br></div><div>However, there are also special people who truly care and want to really know. &nbsp;Such is the case with Paul and his beloved congregation in Ephesus. &nbsp;They know Paul has been imprisoned in chains&nbsp;for years now. &nbsp;Paul wants them to know both the circumstances of his recent imprisonment, which has been relatively speaking,&nbsp;‘comfortable’, but even more he wants them to know from Tychicus that his soul and spirit are at peace in the Lord even though he is most likely&nbsp;facing death.</div><div><br></div><div>He wants to impart to the Believers the very real, divine&nbsp;peace and love from God the Father and the Lord Jesus which he truly has. &nbsp;The love of God is undying. &nbsp;Nothing, not even death,&nbsp;can separate us from that love. (see, Romans 8;38&amp;39)<br><br>This love and peace from God&nbsp;are ours as we abide by faith in our Lord Jesus and believe he is truly&nbsp;in us. &nbsp;This faith gives us courage to lay down our earthly&nbsp;lives for the sake of the gospel. &nbsp;Earthly lives are for spending. &nbsp;We are God’s lights, called to burn brightly for him and his glory. &nbsp;As Jesus prayed, <i>“I am glorified in them.” &nbsp;</i>(John 17;10)</div><div><br></div><div>Paul has made the <i>“good confession” </i>(1 Timothy 6;12&amp;13). &nbsp;He has repeatedly faced death and&nbsp;boldly and fearlessly&nbsp;<span>proclaimed the power and glory of the name of Jesus before many witnesses. &nbsp;He has fulfilled the plan and purpose of God for his life.&nbsp;</span></div><div><span><br></span></div><div><span>&nbsp;The love of God at work in us empowers us all to publicly&nbsp;proclaim the name of Jesus before others. &nbsp;This we do each time we partake of the Holy Meal, the body and blood of Jesus in holy Communion. &nbsp; <i>“As often as you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord’s&nbsp;death&nbsp;until he comes.” &nbsp;</i>(1 Corinthians 11;26).
