<html><head></head><body><div><div><div><div><br></div>Mark 2;9-12<div><br></div><div>Jesus said, “Why do you question in your hearts?</div><div><b>9. &nbsp;Which is easier, to say to the paralytic, ‘Your sins are forgiven,’ &nbsp;or to say, ‘Rise, take up your pallet and walk’?</b></div><div><b>10. &nbsp;But that you may know that the Son of man has authority on earth to forgive sins”—he said to the paralytic—</b></div><div><b>11. &nbsp;“I say to you, rise, take up your pallet and go home.”</b></div><div><b>12. &nbsp;And he rose, and immediately took up his pallet and went out before them all; &nbsp;so that they were all amazed and glorified God, saying, “We never saw anything like this!”</b></div><div><b><br></b></div><div>The answer to Jesus’ question is: &nbsp;Both are impossible, no&nbsp;man has&nbsp;the power to do either.</div><div><br></div><div>Up until this moment, God’s system of atoning for sin, was the offering of a blood sacrifice. &nbsp;The priest&nbsp;did not say to anyone, ‘“Your sin is forgiven.’ &nbsp; Instead, he&nbsp;brought the blood of the sacrifice, provided by the sinner seeking forgiveness to the priest&nbsp;as restitution,&nbsp;and the priest&nbsp;put it on the horns of the Altar, which served&nbsp;to cover over/hide the sin from the eyes of God. &nbsp;This is the sacrificial system God established for the Jews to be forgiven. &nbsp;Payment must be made. &nbsp;<i>“Indeed, under the law almost everything is purified with blood, and without the shedding of blood, there is no forgiveness of sin.” &nbsp;</i>(Hebrews 9;22)</div><div><br></div><div>The idea that an ordinary man could simply say to a sinner, ‘Your sins are forgiven’ was ridiculous.</div><div>Where was&nbsp;the blood of the sacrifice?&nbsp;</div><div><br></div><div>We know don’t we; &nbsp;the sacrificial Lamb of God with his own&nbsp;holy innocent&nbsp;blood&nbsp;was proclaiming the very forgiveness of God to the paralytic. &nbsp;Jesus is God on earth proclaiming that the blood of the sacrifice is present, he himself is the sacrificial payment,&nbsp;the innocent One, God himself.</div><div><br></div><div>This is why God became man, so that He would have holy blood to offer in his death.&nbsp;<span>&nbsp;He became man so that&nbsp;could take our&nbsp;</span><span>place</span><span>&nbsp;on the cross&nbsp;himself as the One with all the&nbsp;</span><span>guilt of the world laid on him. &nbsp; </span><i>“For our sake he </i><span>(God) </span><i>made him </i><span>(Jesus) to </span><u>be sin</u><span>&nbsp;who knew no sin, </span><u>so that we might become the righteousness of God.</u><i>” &nbsp;&nbsp;</i><span>(2 Corinthians 5;21)</span><span>&nbsp;</span></div><div><span><br></span></div><div><span>The fact that Jesus could also say to the paralytic, <i>“Rise, take up your pallet and go home,&nbsp;” a</i>nd he did, only further goes to show who Jesus is, both true God, and true man, fully God and fully man.</span></div><div><span>For only God could do either, forgive or heal!</span></div><div><span><br></span></div><div><span>Now comes the most amazing aspect to this account. &nbsp;Today, you and I have been given the very same power and authority (which only belongs to God): &nbsp;to forgiven one another. &nbsp;<i>“Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, <u>forgiving one another</u>, as <u>God&nbsp;</u><u>in Christ</u>&nbsp;forgave you. </i>(Ephesians 4;32)</span></div><div><span><br></span></div><div><span>When we forgive one another, we do so by God indwelling us. &nbsp;Only God can forgive sins.</span></div><div><span><br></span></div><div><span>Prayer: &nbsp;O most merciful Heavenly Father, who works&nbsp;wonderful&nbsp;things in us&nbsp;far beyond our imagination or desire; Grant us grace, wisdom, courage, and faith to believe You dwell in us, empowering us to do all good works, especially to forgive one another. &nbsp;In Jesus we pray, Amen.</span></div><div><span><br></span></div><div><span>Love,</span></div><div><span>Dad/Baba/Eric</span></div><div><span>Grandpa Pickle Pastor</span></div><div><span>“A chapter a day, every day, progressively, be transformed, ‘soak’ in the living Word. &nbsp;God’s Word is our habitation, and we <u>are His.”</u></span></div><div><br><br><div><a href="https://mail.onelink.me/107872968?pid=nativeplacement&amp;c=Global_Acquisition_YMktg_315_Internal_EmailSignature&amp;af_sub1=Acquisition&amp;af_sub2=Global_YMktg&amp;af_sub3=&amp;af_sub4=100000604&amp;af_sub5=EmailSignature__Static_" rel="nofollow" target="_blank"></a><br></div></div></div></div></div></body></html>

This is why God became man, so that He would have holy blood to offer in his death.  He became man so that could take our place on the cross himself as the One with all the guilt of the world laid on him.   “For our sake he (God) made him (Jesus) to be sin who knew no sin, so that we might become the righteousness of God.”   (2 Corinthians 5;21)
