<html><head></head><body><div><div><div>Mark 2;21&amp;22<div><br></div><div><b>21. &nbsp;No one sews a piece of unshrunk cloth on an old garment; if he does, the patch tears away, and a worse tear is made.</b></div><div><b>22. &nbsp;And no one puts new wine into old wine skins; if he does, the wine will burst the skins, and the wine is lost, and so are the skins; but new wine is for fresh skins.”</b></div><div><b><br></b></div><div>‘Newness of life’ is what we receive in our baptism into Christ, his own&nbsp;death to sin and his resurrection to eternal life. &nbsp;</div><div><br></div><div>The new life&nbsp;is a life lived no longer seeking to make satisfaction for our sins. &nbsp;We cannot. &nbsp;Our debt is paid, we are joyfully&nbsp;free. &nbsp;&nbsp;Christ has fully paid&nbsp;for our sins. &nbsp;No more blood sacrifice is required. ‘Newness of life’ is what we receive in our baptism into Christ, his own death to sin and his resurrection to eternal life.  
The new life is a life lived no longer seeking to make satisfaction for our sins.  We cannot.  Our debt is paid, we are joyfully free.   Christ has fully paid for our sins.  No more blood sacrifice is required. The old system of sinners atoning for their sins by offering sacrifices at the Temple is ended.  
The last and final blood sacrifice for all sin has been offered, by the Lamb of God himself.
