<html><head></head><body><div><div><div><div><br></div>Mark 5;41-43<div><br></div><div><b>41. &nbsp;Taking her by the hand he said to her, “Talitha Cumi”; which means, “Little girl, I say to you,&nbsp;arise.”</b></div><div><b>42. &nbsp;And immediately the girl got up and walked; for she was twelve years old. &nbsp;And immediately they were overcome with amazement.</b></div><div><b>43. &nbsp;And he strictly charged them that no one should know this, and told them to give her something to eat.</b></div><div><b><br></b></div><div>It was Jairus, his wife, Peter, James, and John (and the little girl) who were <i>“overcome with amazement.”</i></div><div>The crowd outside would be left in confusion, thinking ‘perhaps the little girl really was just sleeping’.</div><div><i><br></i></div><div>In this case, Jesus sought to avoid the commotion which later, (after Jesus in a very public way raised Lazarus of Bethany)&nbsp;would arouse the Pharisees to say, <i>“What are we going to do? &nbsp;For this man preforms many&nbsp;signs. &nbsp;If we let him go on thus, everyone will believe in him, and the Romans will come and destroy both our holy place and our nation.” &nbsp;</i>(John 11;47b&amp;48)</div><div><br></div><div>This is why Jesus, <i>“charged them that no one should know this”. &nbsp;</i>The time had not yet come for Jesus to provoke his crucifixion. (Which is exactly what raising Lazarus did.)</div><div><br></div><div>Is it not a wonder, that so many people had witnessed the miracles of Jesus, and He had become so well known, that his fame was troubling even&nbsp;those who rejected him. &nbsp;In an age where there was no mass communication, the whole nation of Israel was in discussion over the question, <i>‘</i>’Could Jesus of Nazareth be the Christ, the One to restore the kingdom to Israel?’ &nbsp;&nbsp;</div><div><br></div><div>We know&nbsp;their curiosity was misplaced, for it is not a political kingdom or theocracy which Jesus has come to give us, but rather the rule of the will of the Father in our hearts by the Holy Spirit.</div><div><br></div><div>This is still the problem today, people fear the rule of the kingdom of God over them. &nbsp;They cling to what they foolishly&nbsp;desire and what makes them feel safe (even though they are far from safe). &nbsp;Humans’ ability to rule themselves according to their own reason and logic, means they live in bondage to&nbsp;fear and&nbsp;loss of control. &nbsp;The truth is, as children of God, we never&nbsp;need to fear His good will for us.<br><br>Christians are often accused of seeking to establish theocracies on earth. &nbsp;We are not. &nbsp;We do desire for all people to embrace the truth of who Jesus is, our Savior and the LORD God almighty, come to us to bring us true freedom,&nbsp;life, peace, hope, joy, and unity. &nbsp;Any nation which&nbsp;strives to do His will in its’ governance will be blessed. &nbsp;</div><div><br></div><div>When Christians involve themselves in political activities, seeking to influence the laws and governance of a nation, they do so out of love for all. &nbsp;For when we depart from the will of the Father, we only bring sorrow and&nbsp;destruction upon ourselves, not freedom. &nbsp;The Apostle Paul writes,&nbsp;&nbsp;<i>“For freedom Christ I has set us free;</i><i>&nbsp;stand fast therefore, and do not submit again to a yoke of slavery.” &nbsp;</i><span>(</span><span>Galatians 5;1)</span></div><div><br></div><div>Those who reject the love of God in Christ Jesus are not free by their licentiousness, they are enslaved in&nbsp;their own&nbsp;fears, in their own darkened reasoning, all the time&nbsp;thinking they are enlightened.</div><div><br></div><div>Prayer: &nbsp;O Most Merciful Heavenly Father, whose kingdom’s rule is perfect&nbsp;grace and life in Christ, forgive us for our fearful rejection of your good will for us. &nbsp;Bless us to trust in You and Your goodness toward us, more that we do in our own understanding. &nbsp;In Jesus we pray, Amen.</div><div><br></div><div>Love,</div><div>Dad/Baba/Eric</div><div>Grandpa Pickle Pastor</div><div>“A chapter a day, every day, progressively, be transformed, ‘soak’ in the living Word. &nbsp;God’s Word is our habitation, and we are His.”</div><div><br></div><div><br><div><a href="https://mail.onelink.me/107872968?pid=nativeplacement&amp;c=Global_Acquisition_YMktg_315_Internal_EmailSignature&amp;af_sub1=Acquisition&amp;af_sub2=Global_YMktg&amp;af_sub3=&amp;af_sub4=100000604&amp;af_sub5=EmailSignature__Static_" rel="nofollow" target="_blank"></a><br></div></div></div></div></div></body></html>
