<html><head></head><body><div><div><div><div><br></div>Mark 6;4-6<div><br></div><div><b>4. &nbsp;And Jesus said to them, “A prophet is not without honor, except in his own country, and among his own kin, and in his own house.”</b></div><div><b>5. &nbsp;And he could do no mighty work there, except that he laid his hands upon a few sick people and healed them.</b></div><div><b>6. &nbsp;And he marveled because of their unbelief. &nbsp;And went about among the villages teaching.</b></div><div><br></div><div>It is no small thing to cause the Son of God to marvel. &nbsp;</div><div><br></div><div>Other words that means ‘to marvel’ are&nbsp;&nbsp;‘astonished’, or&nbsp;<span>‘</span><span>a</span><span>mazed’. &nbsp; To be so well attested as One who has&nbsp;come from God, doing and saying&nbsp;nothing but good,&nbsp;gracious, miraculous things, and yet to be discounted and disrespected, that is a cause for marveling.</span></div><div><span><br></span></div><div><span>There is a saying attributed to Thomas Chalkley 1713, “There are none so blind as those who will not see. &nbsp;The most deluded people are those who choose to ignore what they already know.”</span></div><div><span><br></span></div><div><span>We must ask ourselves,&nbsp;’Why do people deny Christ as Divine, the Son of God, sent as the Savior of the world?” &nbsp;</span></div><div><span><br></span></div><div><span>It is not because they refuse to admit they need saving. &nbsp;The evidence of their sinful lost state surrounds them continually. &nbsp;The real reason is that they are <i>“offended” </i>at the notion that, someone, just like themselves, someone born out of their very own familiar&nbsp;circumstances, could possibly be their Savior!</span></div><div><span><br></span></div><div><span>To believe such a thing, is to admit that they too might, could, ought to,&nbsp;share in His holiness. &nbsp;</span></div><div><span><br></span></div><div><span>Even now, Christians struggle to believe that the living God almighty,&nbsp;in Christ, by the Holy Spirit, actually dwells within us!</span></div><div><span><br></span></div><div><span>To believe this, means we have no excuse for our remaining unchanged. &nbsp;The concepts of faith and repentance (which means ‘change’) are inseparable. &nbsp;Believers must be ‘changers’. &nbsp;If we refuse to be changed, we are really unbelievers and unrepentant.</span></div><div><span><br></span></div><div><span>Our old sinful nature hates all change. &nbsp;Change makes us uncomfortable. &nbsp;Yet, it is the very work of God within us. &nbsp;<i>“For those whom He foreknew&nbsp;He&nbsp;also predestined to be conformed to His image of His Son, that He </i>(Jesus)&nbsp;<i>might be the First-born </i><u>among many brethren,”</u>.
