<html><head></head><body><div><div><div><div><br></div>Mark 6;19-29<div><br></div><div><b>19. &nbsp;And Herodias had a grudge against him, and wanted to kill him. &nbsp;But she could not,</b></div><div><b>20. &nbsp;for Herod feared John, knowing that he was a righteous and holy man, and kept him safe. &nbsp;When he heard him, he was much perplexed; and yet he heard him gladly.</b></div><div><b>21. &nbsp;But an opportunity came when Herod on his birthday gave a banquet for his courtiers and officers and the leading men of Galilee.</b></div><div><b>22. &nbsp;For when Herodias’ daughter came in and danced, she pleased Herod and his guests; and the king said to the girl, “Ask me for whatever you wish, and I will grant it.”</b></div><div><b>23. &nbsp;And he vowed to her, &nbsp;“Whatever you ask me, I will give you, even half my kingdom.”</b></div><div><b>24. &nbsp;And she went out, and said to her mother, “What shall I ask?” &nbsp;And she said, “The head of John the baptizer.”</b></div><div><b>25. &nbsp;And she came in immediately with haste to the king, and asked, saying, “I want you to give me the head of John the Baptist on a platter.”</b></div><div><b>26. &nbsp;And the king was sorry; but because of his oaths and his guests he did not want to break his word to her.</b></div><div><b>27. &nbsp;And immediately the king sent a soldier of the guard and gave orders to bring his head. &nbsp;He went and beheaded him in the prison,</b></div><div><b>28. &nbsp;and brought his head on a platter, and gave it to the girl and</b><b>&nbsp;the girl gave it to her mother.</b></div><div><b>29. &nbsp;When his disciples heard of it, they came and took his body, and laid it in a tomb.</b></div><div><b><br></b></div><div><b><br></b></div><div>Being a Believer compels us to discipleship. &nbsp;To be a disciple of Jesus, we in faith and love,&nbsp;follow Him into death.</div><div>This is why Jesus said, <i>“If any man would come after Me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow Me. &nbsp;For whoever would save his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life for My sake will find it.” &nbsp;</i>(Matthew 16;24&amp;25)</div><div><br></div><div>Death holds no fear for us for we have already died with Jesus in our baptism into Him and&nbsp;his death to sin.</div><div>Physical death for us is the portal into the very presence of God.</div><div>It is nothing more than the removal of the shell of a nut, or the husk of an ear of corn. &nbsp;</div><div>The Life we have been given can never be taken from us.</div><div><br></div><div>Jesus said, <i>“I tell you, my friends, do not fear those who kill the body</i><i>, and after that have no more that they can do.&nbsp; But I will warn you whom to fear: fear him who, after he has killed, has power to cast into hell; yes I tell you, fear him.” &nbsp;</i><span>(Luke 12;4&amp;5)</span></div><div><span><br></span></div><div><span>John the Baptist died because of&nbsp;the love of God at work in him compelled him to warn Herod of the danger his soul was in&nbsp;because of his unlawfully marrying Herodias.</span></div><div><span><br></span></div><div><span>Satan&nbsp;the evil,&nbsp;lawless&nbsp;murderer, was one from the beginning. &nbsp;But,&nbsp;the evil one can only kill our body, (our shell or husk) he cannot harm our soul.&nbsp;</span></div><div><span><br></span></div><div><span>&nbsp;Jesus is returning in glory to give to His</span><span>&nbsp;repentant, believing,&nbsp;</span><span>faithful, disciples eternal life, but He will also cast into Hell, Satan, all the unclean demonic spirits, and all humans who have bowed the knee to the devil and served him in a life of unrepentant sin.</span></div><div><span><br></span></div><div><span>Do not fear the devil, fear Him who will judge all on the last day.</span></div><div><span><br></span></div><div><span>Our fear of God is really love of God. &nbsp;We, with Jesus, and in Jesus, are&nbsp;the workmanship of God who&nbsp;now as the born anew&nbsp;new man,&nbsp;delight to do His will. &nbsp; <i>“By the Spirit, put to death the deeds of the body.” &nbsp;</i>(Romans 8;12-17)</span></div><div><br></div><div><br>Prayer: &nbsp;O Most Merciful Father in Heaven, bless us to know we are not only dead with Christ to sin, but we are also raised with Jesus into newness of life, a life now lived in your own love for us. &nbsp;In Jesus we pray, Amen.</div><div><br></div><div>Love,</div><div>Dad/Baba/Eric</div><div>Grandpa Pickle Pastor</div><div>“A chapter a day, every day, progressively, be transformed, ‘soak’ in the living Word. &nbsp;God’s Word is our habitation, and we are His.”<br><br><div><a href="https://mail.onelink.me/107872968?pid=nativeplacement&amp;c=Global_Acquisition_YMktg_315_Internal_EmailSignature&amp;af_sub1=Acquisition&amp;af_sub2=Global_YMktg&amp;af_sub3=&amp;af_sub4=100000604&amp;af_sub5=EmailSignature__Static_" rel="nofollow" target="_blank"></a><br></div></div></div></div></div></body></html>
