<html><head></head><body><div><div><div><div><br></div>Mark 6;39-44<div><br></div><div><b>39. &nbsp;Then he commanded them all to sit down by companies upon the green grass.</b></div><div><b>40. &nbsp;So they sat down in groups, by hundreds and by fifties.</b></div><div><b>41. &nbsp;And taking the five loaves and the two fish he looked up to heaven, and blessed, and broke the loaves, and gave them to the disciples to set before the people; and he divided the two fish among them all.</b></div><div><b>42. &nbsp;And they all ate and were satisfied.</b></div><div><b>43. &nbsp;And they took up twelve baskets full of broken pieces and of the fish.</b></div><div><b>44. &nbsp;And those who ate the loaves were five thousand men.</b></div><div><br></div><div>This great sign preformed by Jesus is given&nbsp;to reveal to all that Jesus is indeed come to us as God incarnate. &nbsp;</div><div><br></div><div>It is not unlike the&nbsp;manna miraculously given to the Hebrew slaves who followed Moses. &nbsp;On the eve of the sabbath, they were to gather extra, so that there would be no work of gathering&nbsp;done on the sabbath itself.&nbsp;Scripture records, <i>“And the people did so; they gathered, some more, some less. &nbsp;But when they measured it with an Omer, he that gathered much had nothing over, and he that gathered little had no lack; they gathered according to what they could eat.” &nbsp;</i>(Exodus 16;17&amp;18)</div><div><br></div><div>Miracles are not explainable, that is what makes them miracles. &nbsp;Miracles show us that there is another power and force at work in our midst which defies logic and understanding. &nbsp;</div><div><br></div><div>We must not be so amazed by the supernatural event of multiplying&nbsp;bread. &nbsp;Instead, we are to be captivated by the One through whom the miracle was worked, Jesus of Nazareth, Son of man and Son of God. &nbsp;He is able to supply power and means beyond human understanding. &nbsp;In Him, with Him we can do what of ourselves we could never do.</div><div><br></div><div>The other lesson to be learned is that, if our Lord commands us to do anything, He will supply the strength and resources to do it. &nbsp;The key is to discern <u>what has Jesus commanded us to do?</u></div><div><u><br></u></div><div>The Church of all true Believers has been commanded: &nbsp;<i>“Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.” &nbsp;</i>(Matthew 5;16).&nbsp;&nbsp;<i>“But I say to you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you.” </i>(V. 44) &nbsp;<i>“Pray then like this: ‘Our Father who art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.” &nbsp;</i>(Matthew 6;9) &nbsp;<i>“lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust consumes and where thieves do not break in and steal. &nbsp;For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.” &nbsp;</i>(v. 20&amp;21) &nbsp;<i>“Therefore do not be anxious, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ &nbsp;For the Gentiles seek all these things; and your heavenly&nbsp;Father knows that you need them all. &nbsp;But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things shall be yours as well. &nbsp;Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. &nbsp;Let the day’s own trouble be sufficient for the day.” &nbsp;</i>(vss. 31-34)</div><div><br></div><div>And finally, <i>“Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, to the close of the age.” &nbsp;</i>(Matthew 28;19&amp;20)</div><div><br></div><div>In all these commands, be assured, our Lord will miraculously supply all that we need. &nbsp;Our calling is to<span>&nbsp;not &nbsp;ask, ‘<u>How</u>&nbsp;are we to do miracles…?’ &nbsp;
