If any man has ears to hear, let him hear. &nbsp;</b>(This verse is&nbsp;found in all manuscripts.)</div><div><b>17. &nbsp;And when he had&nbsp;entered the house, and left the people, his disciples asked him about the parable.</b></div><div><b>18. &nbsp;And he said to them, “Then are you also without understanding? &nbsp;Do you not see that whatever goes into a man from outside cannot defile him,</b></div><div><b>19. &nbsp;since it enters, not his heart but his stomach, and so passes on?” (Thus he declared all foods clean.)</b></div><div><b><br></b></div><div>The disciples had been eating with unwashed hands. &nbsp;The Pharisees said their eating with unwashed&nbsp;hands&nbsp;<br>‘defiled’ them spiritually, making them&nbsp;‘unclean’ before God. &nbsp;</div><div><br></div><div>Such a teaching is false. &nbsp;The foods we eat, (pork, shellfish, rabbits, and so on)&nbsp;or the circumstances in how we eat them, are not what defile us in the sight of God. &nbsp;</div><div><br></div><div>What makes us unclean before God is the evil teachings and vile, hateful words which come out of our mouths.&nbsp;The things we say in hate, anger, greed, envy, lust, cursing, swearing, careless, thoughtless, hurtful, false words spoken about and&nbsp;at others, (including God), these are what make our souls unclean places where God does not want to dwell.</div><div><br></div><div>It is our filthy&nbsp;souls which God cares about, not our unwashed hands. &nbsp;His desire is to live in and through us, but our evil&nbsp;speech can actually grieve&nbsp;God and drive Him&nbsp;out of us.</div><div><br></div><div><i>“Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruits.” &nbsp;</i>(Proverbs 18;21)</div><div>(see also Ephesians 4;30-32)</div><div><br></div><div>God’s Word created all matter and all&nbsp;the&nbsp;living things in Creation. &nbsp;The Word has divine&nbsp;power. &nbsp;By giving us tongues, God is giving us an incredibly powerful gift. &nbsp;Our power of speech is&nbsp;to be used carefully, to declare God’s truth, and by it,&nbsp;true life is given to others, repentance and faith enter into&nbsp;the hearts of men. &nbsp;Food goes into the stomach. &nbsp;Words, go into the heart, mind, soul, and spirit of others.</div><div><br></div><div>The Word of God can cleanse the&nbsp;hearts&nbsp;of others&nbsp;and fill them&nbsp;with the very presence of God by the Holy Spirit.</div><div><br></div><div>Jesus said, <i>“It is the Spirit that gives life, the flesh is of no avail;</i><i> the words that I have spoken</i><i>&nbsp;to you </i><u>are Spirit and life.”</u>&nbsp;&nbsp;<span>(John 6;63). &nbsp;</span></div><div><span><br></span></div><div><span>Prayer: &nbsp;O Most Merciful Heavenly Father, you have given us our tongues and the very power of death and life You have put into them. &nbsp;Bless us to use them to Your glory and the building of Your kingdom. &nbsp;By your grace, make our tongues to be&nbsp;Your instruments of true Life. &nbsp;Bless us to speak the truth in love, proclaiming Your living Word in this dead, dark, defiled world, and making others clean. &nbsp;In Jesus we pray, Amen</span></div><div><span><br></span></div><div><span>Love,</span></div><div><span>Dad/Baba/Eric</span></div><div><span>Grandpa Pickle Pastor</span></div><div><span>“A chapter a day, every day, progressively, be transformed, ‘soak’ in the living Word. &nbsp;God’s Word is our habitation, and we are His.”</span></div><div><br><div><a href="https://mail.onelink.me/107872968?pid=nativeplacement&amp;c=Global_Acquisition_YMktg_315_Internal_EmailSignature&amp;af_sub1=Acquisition&amp;af_sub2=Global_YMktg&amp;af_sub3=&amp;af_sub4=100000604&amp;af_sub5=EmailSignature__Static_" rel="nofollow" target="_blank"></a><br></div></div></div></div></div></body></html>
