<html><head></head><body><div><div><div><div><br></div>Mark 8;36-38<div><br></div><div><b>36. &nbsp;For what does it profit a man, to gain the whole world and forfeit his life?</b></div><div><b>37. &nbsp;For what can a man give in return for his life?</b></div><div><b>38. &nbsp;For whoever is ashamed of me and of my&nbsp;words in this adulterous and sinful generation, of him will the son of man also be ashamed, when he comes in the glory of his Father with the holy angels.”<br></b><br>Mammon is a false god, and many even in the church today still&nbsp;bow down to it. &nbsp;There is no profit in profit, if money&nbsp;is what we love and&nbsp;live for. &nbsp;For, the debt we owe to the Father can only be paid with pure,&nbsp;holy, innocent blood, suffering, and death. &nbsp;Only Jesus has ever had that currency.</div><div><br></div><div>Money is not the root of all evil, <i>“The <u>love</u>&nbsp;of money is the root of all evil.” </i>(1 Timothy 6;10)</div><div><br></div><div>Being wealthy is not sinful either, but Believers understand the wealth which has come to them is to be used to glorify God and love our neighbor.</div><div><br></div><div>We have nothing to offer the Father. &nbsp;All we can do is plead the blood of Christ and His death, for our eternal life.&nbsp; His&nbsp;blood and death has become our own, we are one with Him&nbsp;in it, we eat and drink it, and it gives us His own life. &nbsp;When&nbsp;we were baptized into&nbsp;Christ, his death and resurrection was given to us to die in&nbsp;and live in<span>. (see, Romans 6)</span></div><div><span><br></span></div><div><span>Jesus said, <i>“Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not&nbsp;pass away.” &nbsp;</i>(Matthew 24;35)</span></div><div><span>The Word of God will endure when all the wealth of this world is burned up. &nbsp;<i>“Thy words were found, and I ate them, and thy words became to me a joy and the delight of my heart; for I am called by thy name, O LORD, God of hosts.” &nbsp;</i>(Jeremiah 15;16)</span></div><div><span><i><br></i></span></div><div><span>Jesus, by the Holy Spirit, dwells in every baptized Believer. &nbsp;He loves God’s Word. He&nbsp;is The Word made flesh. &nbsp;He delights in God’s Word. &nbsp;The joy of Jesus is partaken of as we devour the Word of God. &nbsp;As we make the Word of God the center and the foundation of our earthly lives, hearing them, read, mark, learn, and inwardly devour them.
