<html><head></head><body><div><div><div><br>Mark 9;9&amp;10<div><br></div><div><b>9. &nbsp;And as they were coming down the mountain, he charged them to tell no one what they had seen, until the Son of man should have risen from the dead.</b></div><div><b>10. &nbsp;So they kept the matter to themselves, questioning what the rising from the dead meant.</b></div><div><b><br></b></div><div>The Gospel of Mark&nbsp;records that&nbsp;Jesus&nbsp;told His disciples&nbsp;three times&nbsp;that he was going to be both&nbsp;killed and then raise from the dead. &nbsp;(Mark 8;31-33, 9;30-32, and 10;32-34) &nbsp;In today’s reading, (9.9) He speaks again but&nbsp;only&nbsp;of His resurrection, this could be considered a fourth time, but this Word of Jesus does not include His being killed, only raised from death.</div><div><br></div><div>We know that even after His resurrection was reported by the women to them, they still disbelieved, even though Jesus had repeatedly told them that He would be raised.</div><div><br></div><div>In the Gospel of Luke,&nbsp; (24;25&amp;26) Jesus calls two of his followers on Easter afternoon, <i>“foolish men, and slow of heart to believe”. &nbsp;</i></div><div><br></div><div>Believing the truth and the reality of the physical, bodily resurrection of Jesus must&nbsp;indeed be the work of God in us giving us true, living faith. &nbsp;For faith itself to dwell in us is God’s gift and work. &nbsp;We by nature do not think supernaturally. &nbsp;</div><div><br></div><div>Even though Jesus preformed so many signs and wonders before His disciples, still all the resurrections of Jairus’ daughter, the son of the&nbsp;widow of Nain, and Lazarus, were done <u>by Jesus.</u>&nbsp; But, how could Jesus be raised if the One in whom the disciples hoped and believed was&nbsp;Himself dead? &nbsp;<u>WHO,</u>&nbsp;would raise Him?!</div><div><br></div><div>Perhaps that was their problem, the One in whom they hoped was dead, WHO then could they look to in hope for a resurrection of their teacher? &nbsp;</div><div><br></div><div>The answer is always, ‘His living&nbsp;Word.’</div><div><br></div><div>These answers&nbsp;are&nbsp;another mysterious aspect of our faith.&nbsp;</div><div><br></div><div>&nbsp;Jesus said, <i>“For this reason the Father loves me, because I lay down my life, <u>that I may take it up again.</u>&nbsp; No one takes it from me, but I lay it down of my own accord. &nbsp;I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again; this charge I have received from my Father.” &nbsp;</i>(John 10;17&amp;18)</div><div><br></div><div>AND</div><div><br></div><div>Paul records in Roman’s 6;4 <i>“We were buried therefore with him by baptism in to death, so that <u>as Christ was raised from the dead</u>&nbsp;by the glory of the Father, we too might walk in newness of life.”</i></div><div><br></div><div>Peter declares in his Pentecostal sermon, <i>“This Jesus <u>God raised up</u>, and of that we are all witnesses.”</i></div><div>(Acts 2;32)</div><div><br></div><div>The only way to understand this is with the mystery of the Trinity. &nbsp;We have not three gods, but One God in three persons, Father Son and Holy Spirit. &nbsp;All three persons of the Trinity were at work in the bodily&nbsp;resurrection of Jesus Christ. &nbsp;</div><div><br></div><div>So it is with us from our baptism. &nbsp;Today, Easter, is our resurrection also. &nbsp;We have been baptized <u>into</u>&nbsp;Christ, &nbsp;we are partakers of His Good Friday death, and His Easter Sunday resurrection. &nbsp;Today, and every day we continue in the gift of faith,&nbsp;is our own resurrection to newness of life. &nbsp;Our physical resurrection is promised, but we live, from the dead, even now!</div><div><br></div><div>We live for the praise of His glory. &nbsp;All three Person of the Trinity dwell in us, work in us. &nbsp;Death no longer has a claim on us. &nbsp;We live now imperishable in Christ. &nbsp;The putting off of the old tent, the body, holds no fear for us at all. &nbsp;Death is indeed swallowed up in victory.</div><div><br></div><div>He is risen indeed, Alleluia, and <u>in Him, so are we!</u></div><div><u><br></u></div><div>Prayer: &nbsp;Merciful Father, forgive we pray our slowness of heart to believe the Word of Jesus. &nbsp;The disciples were not left without hope, even though their Lord was physically dead, His Word of promise was still with them, they were not left alone. &nbsp;&nbsp;Let His resurrection truly be ours today and every day, bless us to know Your Word “<u>is living and active</u>&nbsp;for us, even in the very presence of physical death.” &nbsp;In Jesus we pray, Amen.</div><div><br></div><div>Love,</div><div>Dad/Baba/Eric</div><div>Grandpa Pickle Pastor</div><div>“A chapter a day, every day, progressively, be transformed, ‘soak’ in the living Word. &nbsp;God’s Word is our habitation, and we <u>are</u>&nbsp;His!
