<html><head></head><body><div><div><div><div><br></div>Mark 9;10<div><br></div><div><b>10. &nbsp;So they kept the matter to themselves, questioning what the </b><i>‘rising from the dead’’</i><span>&nbsp;meant.</span><i><b></b></i></div><div><span><br></span></div><div>Jesus, on Palm Sunday,&nbsp;spoke profoundly concerning His death saying, <i>“The hour has come for the Son of man to be glorified, &nbsp;Truly, truly, I say to you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the earth and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it bears much fruit.” </i>(John 12;23&amp;24)</div><div><br></div><div>In this figure of speech, Jesus is the <i>“grain of wheat,” &nbsp;“falling to the earth and dies,” </i>is his own crucifixion, death, and burial in the tomb, and <i>“bearing much fruit,” </i>is His resurrection into&nbsp;you and me. &nbsp;Jesus did not only physically&nbsp;rise into earthly&nbsp;time and space, He has risen into us.</div><div><br></div><div>We Believers, are the fruit of Easter.</div><div><br></div><div>Our own baptism, joins us into Christ, to share in His death to sin, and His own resurrection to newness of life. &nbsp;(see, Romans 6)</div><div><br></div><div>It is good for us to consider the same question the disciples asked among themselves…’What does our Lord Jesus&nbsp;mean when he speaks of the <i>“rising from the dead”’? &nbsp;</i>AND, ‘How can death bring forth new life?’</div><div><br></div><div>Answer? &nbsp;<i>“The death He died, He died to sin.”</i>&nbsp; (Romans 6;10a). <i>“For our sake </i>(God) <i>made him</i>&nbsp;(Jesus) <i>to be sin who knew no sin, </i><u>so that we might become the righteousness of God.”</u>&nbsp;(2 Corinthians 5;21)<u></u></div><div><br></div><div>While hanging on the cross, dying, Jesus received&nbsp;upon Himself the sin of the world, all&nbsp;our sin, yours and mine, every bit of it. &nbsp;<i>“All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD has laid on him the iniquity of us all.”</i></div><div>(Isaiah 53;6)</div><div><br></div><div>By His death, that sin of ours laid on Him, has been&nbsp;swallowed up in the victory of His resurrection. &nbsp;<i>“Sin shall no longer have dominion over you.” &nbsp;</i>(Romans 6;14a).
