<html><head></head><body><div><div><div><div><br></div>Mark 9;47-50<div><br></div><div><b>&nbsp;</b>47b. &nbsp;…it is better for you to enter the kingdom of God with one eye than with two eyes to be thrown into hell,</div><div>48. &nbsp;where their worm does not die, and the fire is not quenched.</div><div><b>49. &nbsp;For every one&nbsp;will be salted&nbsp;with fire.</b></div><div><b></b><b>50. &nbsp;Salt is good; but if the salt has lost its saltiness, how will you season it? &nbsp;Have salt in yourselves, and be at peace with one another.</b></div><div><b><br></b></div><div>When Jesus says, <i>“every one will be salted with fire,” </i>&nbsp;He is saying, ‘every one will hear&nbsp;the divine Truth’. &nbsp;Jesus does not say when or how, only that the Truth of God will at some point be heard by the whole of the human race.</div><div><br></div><div>For some, the truth that <i>“Jesus Christ <b><u>is</u>&nbsp;</b>Lord.” </i>(Philippians 2;11) will be to their eternal joy, for unbelievers&nbsp;it will be to their eternal sorrow.</div><div><br></div><div>This Truth of God is the fire which either rejoice and inspires&nbsp;the heart, changing&nbsp;our lives,&nbsp;giving us forgiveness,&nbsp;new-life, and purpose&nbsp;in Christ.</div><div>&nbsp;Or&nbsp;this&nbsp;Truth,&nbsp;(that Jesus Christ is Lord),&nbsp;is resented and rejected, and&nbsp;it<span>&nbsp;will&nbsp;become the fuel of the flames of hell for the unrepentant unbeliever.&nbsp;</span></div><div><span><br></span></div><div><span>Hell is a place of everlasting, hot&nbsp;anger, and self-hate;&nbsp;where men forever will&nbsp;hate themselves for their hard-hearted, stubborn rejection of the Lordship of Jesus.&nbsp; In this life, unbelievers are proud of themselves and their rebellion, their prideful selfishness, and&nbsp; self-serving&nbsp;sin. &nbsp;In hell, they will finally be forever&nbsp;ashamed.</span></div><div><span><br></span></div><div><span>Salt changes, enhances,&nbsp;and preserves, it is used to cure&nbsp;and stop decay. &nbsp;It makes foods flavorful. &nbsp;It is good and is mingled with sacrifices to God, signifying changed lives.</span></div><div><span>But, salt will burn terribly if poured into a wound. &nbsp;In the Judgement, the Truth of the Lordship of Jesus will finally wound the seared consciousness of the unbelievers, it will indeed hurt. &nbsp;They will finally be <i>“cut to the heart.” &nbsp;</i>(Acts 2;37), but for them it will be too late.</span></div><div><span><br></span></div><div><span>Jesus said, <i>“I came to cast fire upon the earth; and would that it were already kindled! When Jesus says, “every one will be salted with fire,”  He is saying, ‘every one will hear the divine Truth’.  Jesus does not say when or how, only that the Truth of God will at some point be heard by the whole of the human race.
