And he entered the temple and began to drive out those who sold and&nbsp;those who bought in the temple, and he overturned the tables of the money, changers, and the seats of those who sold pigeons;</b></div><div><b>16. &nbsp;and he would not allow anyone to carry anything through the temple.</b></div><div><b>17. &nbsp;And he taught, and said to them, “Is It not written, ‘My house shall be&nbsp;called a house of prayer for all the nations’? &nbsp;But you have made it a den of robbers.“</b></div><div><b><br></b></div><div>Yesterday, Jesus startled us by His cursing of the fruitless fig tree. &nbsp;Today Jesus continues to disturb&nbsp;and unsettle us by another display of deep emotion, He&nbsp;shows&nbsp;us true righteous anger with&nbsp;physical violence &nbsp;‘cleansing of the temple.’&nbsp;&nbsp;</div><div><br></div><div>The Gospel of John (chapter 2)&nbsp;records that Jesus did this once before at the beginning of His ministry.</div><div><br></div><div>When Jesus says, <i>“My House”</i>&nbsp;He is not simply speaking of the physical structure of Herod’s Temple. &nbsp;He is speaking also of His future dwelling place, the Church, you and me. &nbsp;Jesus said, &nbsp;<i>“If a man loves Me, he will keep my Word, and My Father will love him, and <u>we will come to him and make our home with him.”</u>&nbsp;</i><u></u></div><div>(John 14;23)</div><div><br></div><div>This <i>“zeal” </i>(John 2;17) of Jesus, is the emotion which drove&nbsp;Him to the cross. &nbsp;The ‘passion’ of Good Friday, is&nbsp;His sorrow over the fruitlessness of Israel and the uncleanness of the false god Mammon desecrating us, His&nbsp;sanctuary. &nbsp;These are the spots,&nbsp;wrinkles, and blemishes in the wedding garment of the Church.<u></u></div><div><br></div><div><div>Only Jesus can cleanse us and present us to Himself in&nbsp;holy splendor.</div><div><br></div><div>This, He has done in our baptism into Himself. &nbsp;The very passion of Christ, the Spirit of Holiness has been given into us. &nbsp;It is now given to us, to put off the old nature and to display the glory of the&nbsp;holiness in Christ.</div><div><br></div><div>Walking by the Spirit, we <u>are</u>&nbsp;zealous, not only for good works but to&nbsp;also, by the Spirit, put&nbsp;to death the deeds of the body. &nbsp; &nbsp;<i>“Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.” </i>(Galatians 5;24)</div><div><br></div><div>Prayer: &nbsp;Merciful Father, in Christ, You have made us holy. &nbsp;You have washed us and made the&nbsp;Spirit of Holiness to dwell in us. &nbsp;Grant us grace to deny ourselves, our fleshly passions and unholy living, and walk in newness of life in Christ. &nbsp;In Jesus we pray, Amen.</div><div><br></div><div>Love,</div><div>Dad/Baba/Eric</div><div>Grandpa Pickle Pastor</div><div>“A chapter a day, every day, progressively, be transformed ‘soak’ in the living Word. &nbsp;God’s Word is our habitation, and we are His.”<br><br><div><a href="https://mail.onelink.me/107872968?pid=nativeplacement&amp;c=Global_Acquisition_YMktg_315_Internal_EmailSignature&amp;af_sub1=Acquisition&amp;af_sub2=Global_YMktg&amp;af_sub3=&amp;af_sub4=100000604&amp;af_sub5=EmailSignature__Static_" rel="nofollow" target="_blank"></a><br></div></div></div></div></div></div></body></html>
