<html><head></head><body><div><div><div><div><br></div>Mark 11;17-19<div><br></div><div><b>17. &nbsp;And he taught, and said to them, “ Is it not written, ‘My house shall be called a house of prayer for all the nations’? &nbsp;But you have made it a den of robbers.“</b></div><div><b>18. &nbsp;And the chief priests and the&nbsp;scribes heard it and sought a way to destroy him; for&nbsp;they feared him, because&nbsp;all the multitude was astonished at his teaching.</b></div><div><b>19. &nbsp;And when evening came, they&nbsp;went out of the city. &nbsp;&nbsp;</b></div><div><b><br></b></div><div>The chief priests and the scribes took their living from the life of the temple, not the life of their souls and spirits, but rather the life of their flesh. &nbsp;They considered the temple to be&nbsp;their own, just as most people think their physical bodies are their own. &nbsp;The multitude&nbsp;were to them,&nbsp;‘sheep to be sheered’, not served.</div><div><br></div><div>They thought of the&nbsp;Mosaic&nbsp;Law and the&nbsp;Aaronic Priesthood as a unique creation of God over which they rightfully&nbsp;ruled and governed. &nbsp;It was endorsed or at least tolerated by the Romans as a means to maintain order amongst these rebellious Jews. &nbsp;Their own unique positions in the ‘worship system’ of the people&nbsp;was to their own personal advantage. &nbsp;</div><div><br></div><div>When Jesus declares, <i>“<u>My</u>&nbsp;house shall be called a house of prayer for all the&nbsp;nations.” &nbsp;</i>He is claiming rightful ownership of the&nbsp;Temple as His own, <u>and</u>&nbsp;the multitude as His own as well. &nbsp;(They are His sheep, He is their Good Shepherd, <u>and,</u>&nbsp;the priesthood as being His own&nbsp;servants!) &nbsp;In essence, Jesus by saying,<i>” <u>My</u>&nbsp;house” </i>is declaring Himself to be God! &nbsp;So long as the priests and scribes consider the temple their own, they make themselves&nbsp;unlawful ‘spiritual&nbsp;squatters,’ who wrongly claim ownership of the people of God,&nbsp;who are&nbsp;the true&nbsp;House of God.</div><div><br></div><div>In their way of thinking, Jesus was an existential threat. &nbsp;He represented a dramatic,&nbsp;profound, and unsettling change to their very lives and livelihood…therefore&nbsp;they,&nbsp;<i>“sought a way to destroy Him.”</i></div><div><i><br></i></div><div>Jesus’ cleansing of the temple is a straight-on challenge to war.</div><div><br></div><div>He desire that we, the Church, understand He also demands&nbsp;ownership of us. &nbsp;He cleanses us so that we would be His own fit dwelling, through which He now lives and works. &nbsp;We are to literally be meta-physical members of His own Body, made One with Him is the waters of Baptism.</div><div><span><br></span></div><div><span>&nbsp;God inspires Paul to write not only to the Romans, but also to us, </span><i>“I appeal to you therefore&nbsp;brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable&nbsp;to God, which is your spiritual worship. &nbsp;Do not be conformed to this world but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that you may prove what I’d the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.” &nbsp;</i><span>(Romans 12;1&amp;2)</span></div><div><span><br></span></div><div><span>Prayer: &nbsp;Merciful Father, bless us to understand that we, the Church,&nbsp;are the cleansed dwelling place of Jesus by the Holy Spirit. &nbsp;Bless us dear Father to understand that we, <i>“are not</i><i>&nbsp;your </i>(our)&nbsp;<i>own, you&nbsp;</i>(we) <i>were bought with a price.”&nbsp; &nbsp; </i>Bless us to, <i>“live for the praise of His </i>(Your)&nbsp;<i>glory.” &nbsp; </i>‘In&nbsp;Jesus’ we pray, Amen.</span></div><div><span><br></span></div><div><span><br></span></div><div><span>Love,</span></div><div><span>Dad/Baba/Eric</span></div><div><span>Grandpa Pickle Pastor</span></div><div><span>“A chapter a day, every day, progressively, be transformed, ‘soak’ in the living Word. &nbsp;God’s Word is our habitation, and we are His.”</span></div><div><span><i>“</i></span></div><div><i></i></div><div><br></div><div><br></div><div><br>&nbsp;<br><br><div><a href="https://mail.onelink.me/107872968?pid=nativeplacement&amp;c=Global_Acquisition_YMktg_315_Internal_EmailSignature&amp;af_sub1=Acquisition&amp;af_sub2=Global_YMktg&amp;af_sub3=&amp;af_sub4=100000604&amp;af_sub5=EmailSignature__Static_" rel="nofollow" target="_blank"></a><br></div></div></div></div></div></body></html>
