<html><head></head><body><div><div><div><div><br></div>Mark 12;1-8<div><br></div><div><b>1. &nbsp;And he began to speak to them in parables. “A man planted a vineyard, and set a hedge around it, and dug a pit for the wine press, and built a tower, and let it out to tenants, and went into another country.</b></div><div><b>2. &nbsp;When the time came, he sent a servant to the tenants, to get from them some of the fruit of the vineyard.</b></div><div><b>3. &nbsp;And they took him and beat him, and sent him away empty-handed.</b></div><div><b>4. &nbsp;He sent to them another servant, and they wounded him in the head, and treated him shamefully.</b></div><div><b>5. &nbsp;And he sent another, and him they killed; and so with many others, some they beat and some they killed.</b></div><div><b>6. &nbsp;He had still one other, a&nbsp;beloved son; finally he sent him to them, saying, ‘They will respect my son.’<br>7. &nbsp;But those tenants said who one&nbsp;another, ‘This is the heir; come, let us kill him, and the inheritance will be ours.’</b></div><div><b>8. &nbsp;And they took him and killed him, and cast him out of the vineyard.</b></div><div><b><br></b></div><div><b><br></b></div><div>This parable is an overview of the plan and purpose of God for His own Creation, not simply the natural world, but a parable concerning the kingdom of God, the rule of God in the hearts of men. &nbsp;It recounts how God’s plan has unfolded up&nbsp;unto this moment in human&nbsp;history as is revealed&nbsp;in the light of&nbsp;the life of Jesus our Lord.</div><div><br></div><div>The ‘vineyard’ represents the kingdom of&nbsp;God as He&nbsp;has endowed it&nbsp;with the capacity to be ‘fruitful,’ the capacity to bring forth reproductive life, not just biological life, but life which is of&nbsp;His very own self by the power of His Word.</div><div><br></div><div>In another sense, the relationship of the Owner of the vineyard to the tenants is that of a husband and a wife.</div><div>Marriage is intended by God to be&nbsp;a ‘symbiotic relationship’ between a husband and wife, one which is a joyful,&nbsp;mutually supportive, and fruitful.</div><div><br></div><div>In the rebellion of Satan and mankind’s fall into sin, a visceral hatred of the Creator has come into the hearts of men. &nbsp;Instead of seeking to honor our Creator and give back to Him a&nbsp;witness and expression of the love and life He has given to us, mankind by its sinful nature, seeks to deny God, destroy Him,&nbsp;claiming all&nbsp;that is justly His&nbsp;by violence, and make it our own.</div><div><br></div><div>The servants the owner sends are the prophets, finally the Owner sends&nbsp;His beloved Son, (Jesus) who the tenants will kill.</div><div><br></div><div>The stupid tenants believe they can have the last word in this conflict. &nbsp;This is the blindness of mankind to the authority and Judgments of God. &nbsp;Foolish, deluded humanity falsely believes God can be denied and&nbsp;deprived of that which is rightly His. &nbsp;Mankind always believes the future belongs to men. &nbsp;We are such a presumptive, arrogant race of imbeciles. &nbsp;</div><div><br></div><div>The power and authority of our Creator surrounds us. &nbsp;Witness to His rightful ownership and goodness bombard our senses daily, (even if we never hear a single word of holy Scripture), the very voice of&nbsp;Creation itself testifies to us that there is an almighty&nbsp;Creator who not only creates, but sustains and supplies all His Creation with His loving energy;&nbsp;
