<html><head></head><body><div><div><div><div><br></div>Mark 12;8-12<div><br></div><div><b>8. &nbsp;And they took him </b>(the beloved son of the Vineyard owner)&nbsp;<b>and killed him, and cast him out of the vineyard.</b></div><div><b>9. &nbsp;What will the owner of the vineyard do? He will come and destroy the tenants, and give the vineyard to others.</b></div><div><b>10. &nbsp;Have you not read this scripture: ‘The very stone, which the builders rejected has become the head of the corner;</b></div><div><b>11. &nbsp;this was the Lord’s doing, And it is marvelous in our eyes’?”</b></div><div><b>12. &nbsp;And they tried to arrest him, but feared the multitude, for the perceived that he had told the parable against them; so they left him and went away.</b></div><div><b><br></b></div><div><b><br></b></div><div>This amazing parable is a spiritual overview of the entire work of God throughout all of human history, stretching on into eternity.</div><div><br></div><div>The original tenants of the vineyard (the kingdom of God the fruitful&nbsp;Garden of Eden)&nbsp;were&nbsp;Adam and Eve and&nbsp;their biological&nbsp;descendants; &nbsp;selectively, these&nbsp;include&nbsp;Seth, Enoch,&nbsp;Noah, Shem, Nahor, Terah, Abraham, Isaac, and Israel (Jacob), Judah, Perez, Boaz, Obed, Jesse, David (the king), Nathan</div><div>(<u>AND</u>&nbsp;Solomon). &nbsp;It is at this point in the genealogy of Jesus that the line of Joseph, and the line of Mery diverge. &nbsp;Each line is of the House of David and Messianic. &nbsp;</div><div><br></div><div>The line of Joseph, Jesus’ legal patriarchal line, includes Rehoboam, Abijah, Asa, Jehoshaphat, Jordan, Uzziah, Jotham, Uzziah, Jotham, Ahvaz, Hezekiah, Manasseh, Amnon, Josiah, Joconiah (Babylonian&nbsp;Deportation), Jeconiah, Shea ltiel, Zerubbabel, Abiud, Eliakim, Achim, Eliud, Eleazar, Matthan, Jacob, and Joseph (husband of Mary).</div><div><br></div><div>Of the biological line of Mary (from whom&nbsp;Jesus took His flesh), we go back again to David, and&nbsp;Nathan, and follow the family line of descent for Mary, down to Heli&nbsp;(father of Mary)&nbsp;the other&nbsp;names of all in between these may be found in Luke 3;24-37.</div><div><br></div><div>It would not be wrong to state that in truth the kingdom of God was intended by God&nbsp;to be ‘let out’ to the whole of humanity, but most,&nbsp;throughout their generations turned&nbsp;to other gods.</div><div><br></div><div>Sadly, in the end, the prophet Isaiah speaking for the whole of the human race says, <i>“All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD laid on Him, </i>(Jesus) <i>the iniquity of us all.” </i>(Isaiah 53;6)<i></i></div><div><br></div><div>We are all guilty,&nbsp;(by the spirit of Satan’s&nbsp;unholy rebellion residing in each of&nbsp;our own&nbsp;sinful natures),&nbsp;of seeking to destroy the <i>“beloved Son” </i>and violently&nbsp;take away&nbsp;the ‘Vineyard’ to be&nbsp;our own, willfully withholding the fruit we justly owe the Owner/Creator, God the LORD, our Triune God, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.</div><div><br></div><div>What awaits the whole of humanity because of the rebellion of sin in us? &nbsp;Death, both physically and eternally, which is the ‘second death’ of hell.</div><div><br></div><div>Yet, the great good news is that the Owner of the Vineyard retains ownership, and “<i>lets out” </i>(gives) the kingdom of God to those who have died with Christ, and been raised with Him in holy Baptism to newness of life, whereby we desire and rejoice to offer to God the the ‘fruits’ which He has planted in us, by His Word and Spirit.</div><div><br></div><div>This kingdom of God has Jesus as its chief Cornerstone.
