But let the scriptures be fulfilled.”</b></div><div><b>50. &nbsp;And they all forsook him, and fled.</b></div><div><b>51. &nbsp;And a young man followed him, with nothing but a linen cloth about his body; and they seized him,</b></div><div><b>52. &nbsp;but he left the linen cloth and ran away naked.</b></div><div><b><br></b></div><div>Jesus said, <i>“Nothing is covered up that will not be revealed, or hidden that will not be known. Whatever you have said in the dark shall be heard in the light, and what you have whispered in private rooms shall be proclaimed upon the house tops.” &nbsp;</i>(Luke 12;2&amp;3)</div><div><br></div><div>The chief priests sought to arrest Jesus quietly so that they would not have to deal with the crowds who had&nbsp;welcomed Jesus into Jerusalem as the <i>“son of David”</i>&nbsp;the Blessed One <i>“who comes in the name of the Lord.” &nbsp;</i>They chose a time of darkness to cloak their actions. &nbsp;How foolish, for Jesus is the <i>“Light of the world.” &nbsp;</i><i></i></div><div><i><br></i></div><div>Jesus also said in His Sermon of the Mount, <i>“You are the light of the world. &nbsp;A&nbsp;city set on a hill cannot be hid.</i></div><div><i>Nor do men light a lamp and put it under a bushel, but on a stand,&nbsp;and&nbsp;it&nbsp;gives light to all in the house. &nbsp;Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father in heaven.” &nbsp;</i>(Matthew 5;14-16)</div><div><br></div><div>Believers live their&nbsp;lives in openness. &nbsp;We hide nothing of who we are. &nbsp;Our lives are open for all to see.</div><div>When we seek to conceal some of our behavior from others, we are acting under the influence of our old nature. &nbsp;In Christ, we are to surrender ourselves entirely to Him, and live our&nbsp;lives as light to others. &nbsp;For the Light of Life has been given into us. &nbsp;Our calling is to display Christ in us to the world.</div><div><br></div><div>This is why we seek after holiness in our thoughts and actions, we are Created in Christ Jesus so that we may be examined by the world.. &nbsp;The Church of all Believers is called to radiate the Light and love of God into this dark world.</div><div><br></div><div>Jesus did this perfectly, we, imperfectly. &nbsp;Praise God that we have the blessed Absolution of Christ spoken into us every Sunday that we make confession of our sin, and the Holy Meal of His true Body and Blood to cleanse and strengthen us again for walking in the Light.</div><div><br></div><div>Is it not wonderful that what the chief priest and scribes sought to hid in darkness has been revealed to the generations and the ages!</div><div><br></div><div><i>“For once you were darkness, but now you are light in the Lord; walk as children of light (for the fruit of light is found in all that is good and right and true), and try to learn what is pleasing to the Lord. Take no part in the unfruitful works of darkness, but instead expose them.
