<html><head></head><body><div><div><div><div><br></div>Mark 15;24-26<div><br></div><div><b>24. &nbsp;And they crucified him, and divided his garments among them, casting lots for them, to decide what each should take.</b></div><div><b>25. &nbsp;And it was the third hour, when they crucified him.</b></div><div><b>26. &nbsp;And the inscription of the charge against him read, “The King of the Jews.”</b></div><div><b><br></b></div><div><b><br></b></div><div>Psalm 22,&nbsp;(a song of David, which he was inspired to compose), may have been written&nbsp;during the period of time when King Saul was hunting David, trying to kill him. &nbsp;David may well have used an ancient melody, (now lost to us, except for the title of that melody called,&nbsp;<i>“The Hind (doe) of the Dawn” </i><span>which itself suggests a desperate and&nbsp;</span><span>helpless animal being hunted in the early morning. &nbsp;</span></div><div><br></div><div>We call Psalm 22 a ‘prophetic, Messianic psalm’ which foreshadows the atoning sacrifice of Jesus the helpless Lamb of God,&nbsp;our&nbsp;Savior. &nbsp;David lived almost one thousand years before Christ, yet the images set forth in the Psalm are startlingly, even <span>astoundingly</span>&nbsp;accurate. <span>&nbsp;In the Psalm,&nbsp;Christ’s crucifixion is&nbsp;being described by Jesus himself, who was living it. &nbsp;Not just the factual aspects, but also the emotional, the very struggle to maintain faith in the presence of unimaginable suffering.</span></div><div><span><br></span></div><div><span><b>Psalm 22, </b>(A&nbsp;Psalm of David)&nbsp;</span></div><div><span>To the choirmaster-tune:&nbsp;<i>“The Hind of the&nbsp;Dawn”</i><i></i></span></div><div><span><i><br></i></span></div><div><span><i>1. &nbsp;My God, my God, why has thou forsaken me?
