<html><head></head><body><div><div><div><div><br></div>Romans 1;11-15<div><br></div><div><b>11. &nbsp;For I&nbsp;long to see you, that I may impart to you some spiritual gift to strengthen you,</b></div><div><b>12. &nbsp;that is, that we may be mutually encouraged by each other’s faith, both yours and mine.</b></div><div><b>13. &nbsp;I want you to know, brethren, that I have often intended to come to you (but thus far have been prevented), in order that I may reap some harvest among you, as well as among the rest of the Gentiles.</b></div><div><b>14. &nbsp;I am under obligation, both to Greeks and to barbarians, both to the wise and to the foolish:</b></div><div><b>15. &nbsp;so I am eager to preach the gospel to you also, who are in Rome.</b></div><div><b><br></b></div><div><b><br></b></div><div>To <i>“encourage each other by each other’s faith” </i>is to see in each other the gift of God working in one another. &nbsp;It is not unlike watching a newly planted garden grow.</div><div><br></div><div>We do not marvel at the soil, or the&nbsp;rain, or the sun, (such things just as easily&nbsp;nourish and support all manner of noxious weeds). &nbsp;We marvel at the miracle of the growth of the seeds. &nbsp;How the seeds sprout and&nbsp;daily increase, eventually producing blossoms, then&nbsp;the first fruits, and thereafter abundantly.</div><div><br></div><div>Yet gardens must be tended, weeded, protected, otherwise the seeds are choked out and prove fruitless. &nbsp; So it is with Paul and the Church at Rome. &nbsp;It is a newly planted garden in need of loving care.</div><div>That is why he yearns to visit.</div><div><br></div><div>When we baptize an infant, the gift of faith is planted into the child, and with that gift of faith all the treasures of the Kingdom of God becomes the child’s.</div><div><span>Yet, the child is un</span><span>knowing intellectually of what has been given it. &nbsp;They must be taught what God has given and&nbsp;how to use it. &nbsp;Growing up in Christ is a process which requires time and patient care. &nbsp;Paul yearns to get to work in that garden.</span></div><div><span><br></span></div><div><span>Fruitful, spiritual maturity comes only with persistent care and patience. &nbsp;Spiritual growth is the result of the branch, (the Believer and the Church) abiding in the Vine, (Christ, by continual reception of&nbsp;Word, and with it, the Holy&nbsp;Spirit).</span></div><div><span><br></span></div><div><span>This is why we need to partake of the life giving Word daily. &nbsp;It is the light and living water which nourishes the newly sprouted faith planted in us. &nbsp;</span></div><div><span><br></span></div><div><span>God’s will is not that we simply be alive (as&nbsp;Believers), He desires that we be abundantly&nbsp;fruitful (as ‘Go-ers’).</span></div><div>As Jesus said to His disciples, <i>“You did not choose me, but I chose you, and appointed you that you should&nbsp;go and bear&nbsp;fruit, and that your fruit should abide; so that whatever you ask of the Father in my name, He may give you.” &nbsp;</i>(John 15;16)</div><div><br></div><div>Fruit which ‘abides’ is the supernatural fruit of the obedience of faith. &nbsp;It does not rot, but endures to eternity.</div><div><br></div><div><br></div><div>Prayer: &nbsp;Merciful Father, bless us to be fruitful, bless us to abide in Christ as a branch to the Vine. &nbsp;In Jesus we pray, Amen.</div><div><br></div><div>Love,</div><div>Dad/Baba/Eric</div><div>Grandpa Pickle Pastor</div><div>“A chapter a day, every day, progressive ly, be transformed, ‘soak’ in the living Word. &nbsp;God’s Word is our habitation, and we are His.”&nbsp;</div><div><b><br></b><br><br><div><a href="https://mail.onelink.me/107872968?pid=nativeplacement&amp;c=Global_Acquisition_YMktg_315_Internal_EmailSignature&amp;af_sub1=Acquisition&amp;af_sub2=Global_YMktg&amp;af_sub3=&amp;af_sub4=100000604&amp;af_sub5=EmailSignature__Static_" rel="nofollow" target="_blank"></a><br></div></div></div></div></div></body></html>
