<html><head></head><body><div><div><div><div><br></div>Romans 2;5-10<div><br></div><div><b>5. &nbsp;But by your hard and impenitent heart you are storing up wrath for yourself on the day of wrath when God‘s righteous judgment will be revealed.</b>&nbsp;</div><div><b>6. &nbsp;For he will render to every man, according to his works:</b></div><div><b>7. &nbsp;to those who by patience&nbsp;in well-doing, seek for glory and honor and immortality, he will give eternal life;</b></div><div><b>8. &nbsp;But for those who are factious and do not obey the truth, but obey wickedness, there will be wrath and fury.</b></div><div><b>9. &nbsp;There will be tribulation and distress for every human being who does evil, the Jew first, and also the Greek,</b></div><div><b>10. &nbsp;but glory and honor and peace for everyone who does good, the Jew first, and also the Greek.</b></div><div><br><br>There is a difference in God’s sight, between sin&nbsp;born of our weakened condition, verses the&nbsp;sinfulness born of a heart given&nbsp;to Satan, which&nbsp;intentionally and willfully&nbsp;serves the darkness. &nbsp;This is&nbsp;a,&nbsp;<i>“hard and&nbsp;impenitent heart.” &nbsp;</i>O Lord, have mercy and deliver us we pray, in Christ, Amen!<u></u></div><div><br></div><div>The difference between the two is found in verse 8, the little&nbsp;phrase, <i>“obey the truth.”</i></div><div><i><br></i></div><div>God expects those whom He has forgiven, cleansed,&nbsp;and given the Holy Spirit to,&nbsp;<i>“walk by the Spirit”</i></div><div>(Galatians 5;16). This is what,&nbsp;<i>“obey the Truth” </i>means.</div><div><br></div><div>Those who <i>“walk by the Spirit” </i>press on by faith in Christ indwelling,&nbsp;against the will of the flesh,&nbsp;patiently and persistently,&nbsp;(like walking against a river’s&nbsp;strong current). &nbsp;</div><div><br></div><div>We may&nbsp;slip and stumble, and sometimes fall.&nbsp;&nbsp;The current actually tries to sweep us downstream to the&nbsp;eternal death of&nbsp;hopelessness, despair, and unbelief. &nbsp;O<span>ur enemies&nbsp;demand&nbsp;we accept our regress, surrender our purpose,</span><span>&nbsp;(living for the praise of the Father’s glory)&nbsp;relax and submit to&nbsp;demonic will and deceitful darkened thinking</span><span>. &nbsp;But, God’s&nbsp;Light, the&nbsp;Word of promise,The Truth, is stronger than the raging River. &nbsp;It is our strength-giving Solid Ground.</span></div><div><br></div><div>The New-man who stumbles and looses his footing, spreads&nbsp;his arms prayerfully,&nbsp;seeking to gain spiritual stability, and feels with his feet searching&nbsp;for the solid rock, the&nbsp;riverbed of God’s Truth.
