<html><head></head><body><div><div><div><div><br></div>Romans 2;11-16<div><br></div><div><b>11. &nbsp;For God shows no partiality.</b></div><div><b>12. &nbsp;All who have sinned without the law will also perish without the law, and all who have sinned under the law will be judged by the law.</b></div><div><b>13. &nbsp;For it is not the heroes of the law who are righteous before God, but the doers of the law who will be justified.</b></div><div><b>14. &nbsp;When Gentiles who&nbsp;have not the law do by nature, what the law requires, they are a law to themselves, even though they do not have the law.</b></div><div><b>15. &nbsp;They show that what the law requires is written on their hearts, while their conscience also bears witness and their conflicting thoughts, accuse, or perhaps excuse them</b></div><div><b>16. &nbsp;on that day when, according to my gospel, God judges the secrets of men by Christ Jesus.</b></div><div><b><br></b></div><div><b><br></b></div><div>The Law of God&nbsp;encoded in the Ten Commandments for the Jews, or the same Law of God, written on the hearts of all men, condemns all men to death and the eternal wrath of God. &nbsp;</div><div><br></div><div>No one will be put right before God by their own best human&nbsp;efforts to keep the Law.</div><div>Jesus said, <i>“Unless your righteousness exceeds that of the scribes and Pharisees, you will never&nbsp;enter the Kingdom of Heaven.” </i>(Matthew 5;20)</div><div>And He also said, <i>“You must be perfect, even as your Father in heaven is perfect.” &nbsp;</i>(Matthew 5;48)</div><div><b><br></b></div><div>The only hope we have of entering heaven, is if we are sealed into Christ and the very righteousness of God is reckoned to us as our own. &nbsp;This very righteousness of God is made our own through repentance and&nbsp;faith in Jesus. &nbsp;(Romans 3;21-25). Faith&nbsp;is given in Holy Baptism even to infants.</div><div><br></div><div>Think of this ‘faith based&nbsp;righteousness’&nbsp;as a clay pot into which burning coals have been poured. &nbsp;The pot looks the same outwardly, but if you touch it, you will feel the heat of the fire within.</div><div><br></div><div>This is what God expects from those whom he has forgiven:&nbsp;&nbsp;They carry His fire of sacrificial love, righteousness, and holiness&nbsp;within them.&nbsp; All who come into contact with them perceive the ‘heat’.&nbsp;</div><div>Believers appear outwardly as just clay pots, like the rest of humanity, but the Holy Spirit is in them and His presence can be felt.</div><div><b><br></b></div><div>Jesus said, <i>“It is the Spirit that gives life, the flesh is of no avail; the Words I have spoken to you are Spirit and Life.” &nbsp;</i>(John 6;63)</div><div><br></div><div>The Word of God itself imparts the Life, Light, and Heat (sacrificial love)&nbsp;of God in Christ by the Spirit. &nbsp;</div><div>As Jesus said, <i>“Apart from Me, you can do nothing” </i>(John 15;5)</div><div><br></div><div>How utterly foolish, stupid, and prideful we are when we do not abide in God’s Word. &nbsp;Think of each day we read, mark,&nbsp;learn, and inwardly digest God’s Word as a ‘step against the current’.</div><div><br></div><div>&nbsp;&nbsp;<i>“For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edge sword, piercing to the division of soul and spirit, of joints and marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart. The Law of God encoded in the Ten Commandments for the Jews, or the same Law of God, written on the hearts of all men, condemns all men to death and the eternal wrath of God.
