To begin with, the Jews are entrusted&nbsp;with the oracles of God.</b></div><div><b><br></b></div><div>If you ever visit our home, you will notice we have a Jewish ‘Mezuzah” on the doorpost of our home.</div><div>(see Deuteronomy 6;4-9) &nbsp;It is there&nbsp;to remind us that we are&nbsp;true Jews, and that God’s Oracles are what give us entrance&nbsp;and exit out of carnal selfish physical life, into spiritual eternal participation in the divine nature.</div><div>&nbsp;</div><div>The word <i>“oracles” </i>means the mouth or speech. &nbsp;When coupled with <i>“of God”, </i>it means the ‘the Words which come from God’s mouth’. &nbsp;In antiquity, there were humans, (ie. ‘The oracle of Delphi’) who were believed to have prophetic powers, but their sayings were so obscure that almost anything could be understood from them.</div><div><br></div><div>In our text today we understand God’s Words to us to be of basically of&nbsp;two categories. &nbsp;First the Law from God to the Jews, given from Mount Sinai. &nbsp;Secondly, the prophets, whose speech was from God foretelling events primarily concerning the formation of and the&nbsp;&nbsp;future of Israel, Most importantly the future concerning the&nbsp;coming Savior, the Messiah, who restore the Kingdom (rule and authority) to Israel. &nbsp;(Holy Scriptures also include categories of history, and poetry.)<i></i></div><div><br></div><div>To have ‘the Law and the prophets’ gave to the Jews a foundation for faith;&nbsp; trusting in the righteousness and merciful&nbsp;judgements of God, for all who called upon the name of the Lord in humble obedience and hope.</div><div><br></div><div><i>“For the Son of God, Jesus Christ, whom we preached among you, Silvanus and Timothy and I, was not Yes and No; but in Him it is always Yes. &nbsp;For all the promises of God find their Yes in Him. &nbsp;That is why we utter the Amen through Him, to the glory of God.” &nbsp;</i>(2 Corinthians 1;19&amp;20)</div><div><br></div><div>Truly, the Old Testament is the foundation for our own faith as well, for we are true Jews, as we allow God the Holy Spirit and the Word <i>(Oracles)</i>&nbsp;to work brokenness and healing&nbsp;in us. &nbsp;</div><div><br></div><div>God is not just in the ‘saving business’, He is in the ‘transforming business’. &nbsp;The Word of God changes us, conforms us to Christ’s image, and makes us fruitful to God’s glory;&nbsp;as we hold it fast in good and faithful hearts,&nbsp;<span>the living&nbsp;</span><span>Word and Holy Spirit patiently brings forth fruit in those who by grace and faith&nbsp;obediently&nbsp;continue in the Word.</span></div><div><span><br></span></div><div><span>Prayer: &nbsp;Merciful Father, we praise You, that by faith and the leading of the Holy Spirit, your Word is understandable to us. &nbsp;Bless us to be&nbsp;humble,&nbsp;persistent, and&nbsp;prayerful&nbsp;as we <i>“continue” &nbsp;</i>(John 8;31&amp;32)&nbsp;in Your Word. &nbsp;&nbsp;</span><span>In Jesus we pray, Amen.</span></div><div><span><br></span></div><div><span>Love,&nbsp;</span></div><div><span>Dad/Baba/Eric</span></div><div><span>Grandpa Pickle Pastor</span></div><div><span>“A chapter a day, every day, progressively, be transformed, ‘soak’ in the living Word. &nbsp;God’s Word is our habitation, and we are His.”</span></div><div><br></div><div><br></div><div><br></div><div><br></div><div><br></div><div><br></div><div><br><br><div><a href="https://mail.onelink.me/107872968?pid=nativeplacement&amp;c=Global_Acquisition_YMktg_315_Internal_EmailSignature&amp;af_sub1=Acquisition&amp;af_sub2=Global_YMktg&amp;af_sub3=&amp;af_sub4=100000604&amp;af_sub5=EmailSignature__Static_" rel="nofollow" target="_blank"></a><br></div></div></div></div></div></body></html>
