<html><head></head><body><div><div><div><div><br></div>Romans 3;25&amp;26<div><br></div><div>Jesus Christ,</div><div><b>25. &nbsp;whom God put forward as an expiation by his blood, to be received by faith. &nbsp;This was to show God’s righteousness, because in His divine forbearance He had passed over former sins;</b></div><div><b>26. &nbsp;it was to prove at the present time that He Himself is righteous and that He justifies him who has faith in Jesus.</b></div><div><br></div><div>An <i>“expiation” </i>is the public&nbsp;act of ‘making up’ for wrong-doing,&nbsp;a payment of a debt owed,&nbsp;or completion of what remained incomplete.<span></span></div><div><br></div><div>In the case of Adam and Eve,&nbsp;their own death was demanded because they had joined themselves to Satan in his rebellion against God and His holy Will and Command. &nbsp;But God did not treat Adam and Eve and us in the same way.</div><div><br></div><div>God in His righteousness&nbsp;<i>“passed over” </i>their sins, delaying justice upon them. &nbsp;He did not reject Adam and Eve like He did the author of the rebellion,&nbsp;Lucifer. &nbsp;<span>In effect, Satan was saying, ‘God, you rejected</span><span>&nbsp;me, why not reject them, they disobeyed You also?’</span></div><div>Instead, God gave Adam and Eve protection by blood (the death of an innocent&nbsp;sacrificial animal, covering them with its’ skin)&nbsp;and the promise of the <i>“woman’s Seed” &nbsp;</i><span>(Genesis 3;14&amp;15) for them in faith to look for.</span></div><div><span><br></span></div><div><span>In doing so, God was making a distinction between us and Satan. Satan&nbsp;defied God intentionally willfully&nbsp;dishonoring Him.
