It was sin, working death in me through what is good, in order that sin might be shown to be sin, and through the commandment might be become sinful beyond measure.</b></div><div><b>14. &nbsp;We know that the law is spiritual; but I am carnal, sold under sin.</b></div><div><b>15. &nbsp;I do not understand my own actions. For I do not do what I want, but I do the very thing I hate.</b></div><div><b>16. &nbsp;If I do what I do not want, I agree that the law is good.</b></div><div><b>17. &nbsp;So then it is no longer I&nbsp;that do it, but sin which dwells within me.<br></b><br><i>“I do not do what I want, but I do the very thing I hate.” &nbsp;</i>(v.15)</div><div><br></div><div>There is a conflict, a war, now going on within every Christian Believer. &nbsp;The war between our carnal desires, our flesh, and the ‘<i>born anew, workmanship of God” </i>(John 3;3 and Ephesians 2;10), whom we may refer to as the ‘new man.’</div><div><br></div><div>Paul is speaking as the ‘new man,’ one who is baptized into Christ and now desires to do the will of the Father in the Mind of Christ. &nbsp;But, he finds that his <i>“old self” </i>(his fleshly carnal nature) has not left him.</div><div><br></div><div>Paul is confessing that as a baptized believer,&nbsp;his heart and mind now desire to do the will of the Father, but his flesh, his <i>“old self” </i>continues as a slave to sin. &nbsp;</div><div><br></div><div>Further, Paul confesses that his <i>“old self,” </i>his sinful flesh, is stronger than his own new born will. &nbsp;Like two horses yoked together, one weak, the other strong. &nbsp; The weak horse wants to plow the field, the strong horse want to stand and just graze. &nbsp;The weak horse is not strong enough to overpower and force the strong horse to work and serve.</div><div><br></div><div>The <i>“old self” </i>in us all is stronger than the <i>“born anew” </i>new man. &nbsp;Of ourselves, even as forgiven, believing, baptized children of God, we of ourselves, do not have the strength to over power and rule our own sin nature.</div><div><br></div><div>Prayer: &nbsp;Merciful Father, deliver us from the power of our carnal nature,&nbsp;our flesh. &nbsp;For we alone do not&nbsp;have&nbsp;&nbsp;the strength to do Thy will. &nbsp;Have mercy Father, we pray in Jesus, Amen.</div><div><br></div><div>Love,</div><div>Dad/Baba/Eric/Grandpa Pickle Pastor</div><div>“A chapter a day, every day, progressively, be transformed, ‘soak’ in the living Word. &nbsp;God’s Word is our habitation, and we, helpless, broken-hearted, contrite, forgiven, believing children, are His.”<br><br><br><br><br><div><a href="https://mail.onelink.me/107872968?pid=nativeplacement&amp;c=Global_Acquisition_YMktg_315_Internal_EmailSignature&amp;af_sub1=Acquisition&amp;af_sub2=Global_YMktg&amp;af_sub3=&amp;af_sub4=100000604&amp;af_sub5=EmailSignature__Static_" rel="nofollow" target="_blank"></a><br></div></div></div></div></div></body></html>

Romans 7;13-17
13.  Did that which is good, then, bring death to me? By no means! It was sin, working death in me through what is good, in order that sin might be shown to be sin, and through the commandment might be become sinful beyond measure.14.  We know that the law is spiritual; but I am carnal, sold under sin.15.  I do not understand my own actions. There is a conflict, a war, now going on within every Christian Believer.  The war between our carnal desires, our flesh, and the ‘born anew, workmanship of God” (John 3;3 and Ephesians 2;10), whom we may refer to as the ‘new man.’
Paul is speaking as the ‘new man,’ one who is baptized into Christ and now desires to do the will of the Father in the Mind of Christ.  But, he finds that his “old self” (his fleshly carnal nature) has not left him.
Paul is confessing that as a baptized believer, his heart and mind now desire to do the will of the Father, but his flesh, his “old self” continues as a slave to sin.  
Further, Paul confesses that his “old self,” his sinful flesh, is stronger than his own new born will.  Like two horses yoked together, one weak, the other strong.   The weak horse wants to plow the field, the strong horse want to stand and just graze.  The weak horse is not strong enough to overpower and force the strong horse to work and serve.
The “old self” in us all is stronger than the “born anew” new man.  Of ourselves, even as forgiven, believing, baptized children of God, we of ourselves, do not have the strength to over power and rule our own sin nature.
Prayer:  Merciful Father, deliver us from the power of our carnal nature, our flesh.  For we alone do not have  the strength to do Thy will.  Have mercy Father, we pray in Jesus, Amen.
