<html><head></head><body><div><div><div><div><br></div>Romans 7;19-23, and 24<div><br></div><div><b>19. &nbsp;For I do not do the good I want, but the evil I do not want is what I do.</b></div><div><b>20. &nbsp;Now, if I do what I do not want, it is no longer I&nbsp;that do it, but sin which dwells within me.</b></div><div><b>21. &nbsp;So I find it to be a law that when I want to do right, evil lies close at hand.</b></div><div><b>22. &nbsp;For I delight in the law of God, in my inmost self,</b></div><div><b>23. &nbsp;but I see in my members another law at war with the law of my mind&nbsp;and making me captive to the law of sin which dwells in my members.</b></div><div><b><br></b></div><div><i>“For I delight in the law of God, in my </i><u>inmost self,</u>”</div><div><br></div><div>I love how God inspires Paul to refer to his own born anew self as his <i>“inmost self” </i>as opposed to&nbsp;his flesh.</div><div>It is a divinely<span>&nbsp;inspired insight into understanding our own true forgiven&nbsp;selves. &nbsp;Who we really are.</span></div><div><span><br></span></div><div><span>The born anew Believer, (his soul and spirit), must&nbsp;live for now in his body. &nbsp;He is responsible for the deeds done in the body. &nbsp;(see, 2 Corinthians 5;10) &nbsp; Yet, he is unable to master himself and control his behavior, or even&nbsp;his own thoughts, desires, and passions. &nbsp;</span></div><div><span><br></span></div><div><span>Therefore Paul cries out saying:</span></div><div><span><br></span></div><div><span><b>24. &nbsp;Wretched man that I am! &nbsp;Who will deliver me from this body of death?&nbsp;</b></span></div><div><span><b><br></b></span></div><div><span><b>&nbsp;</b>Paul considers his body&nbsp;an enemy of his soul! &nbsp;He sees his own true self as existing apart from his body!</span></div><div><span><b><br></b></span></div><div><span>Paul here is <u>not</u>&nbsp;saying, ‘Who will forgiven me?&nbsp;Who will take me to heaven when I die?’ &nbsp;(Paul already knows he is forgiven and has been promised eternal life.) &nbsp;</span></div><div><span><br></span></div><div><span>His cry for help deals with the question, ‘How can I&nbsp;live now as a Believer, wanting to do the Father’s will, while I am still&nbsp;trapped in a body which loves to sin,&nbsp;sin which I must give account for? &nbsp;A body which is too strong for me to control!’</span></div><div><span><br></span></div><div><span>All Believers ask the same question, but most are not taught the wonderful, faith based&nbsp;meta-physical answer&nbsp;which we&nbsp;will learn tomorrow. &nbsp;Stay tuned.</span></div><div><span><br></span></div><div><span>Prayer: &nbsp;Merciful Father, we praise You for Your power to <i>“restore our soul.” &nbsp;</i>It is not Your will or plan for us to live out our lives on this earth as<i>”wretched men”</i><i>&nbsp; </i>but as men who, <i>“live for the praise of your glory.” &nbsp;</i>(Ephesians 1;12).&nbsp;Teach us all how in Your mercy to us, You have given us the way of life, power not from ourselves. &nbsp;Bless us to grasp what Psalm 23 means when it says, <i>“He maketh me to lie down in green pastures. Romans 7;19-23, and 24
