<html><head></head><body><div><div><div>Roman’s 8;14<div><br></div><div><b>14. &nbsp;For all who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God.</b></div><div><br></div><div>What does it me to be, <i>“led by the Spirit of God” ?</i></div><div><i><br></i></div><div>It means that we are no longer in command. &nbsp;Like a good soldier, we follow our good&nbsp;‘Leader’ who is, praise God,&nbsp;<span>NEVER wrong.</span></div><div><span><br></span></div><div><span>To be <i>“led” </i>is to be actively following another, trusting in Him WITHOUT REGARDING&nbsp;our own thoughts!<u></u></span></div><div><span>It is to deny one’self’ (our old nature)&nbsp;in preference to the will of Another.</span></div><div><span><br></span></div><div><span>In Basic Training, when a raw recruit&nbsp;failed to&nbsp;follow orders, his drill Sargent would get up in his face and yell, “Private! Why did you disobey my command!” &nbsp;And the poor Private would foolishly answer, “Well, Drill Sargent, I just ‘thought’…” and before he could even finish&nbsp;his answer, the Drill Sargent would yell even louder in his ear, “If Uncle Sam wanted you to ‘think,’ he would have issued you a brain!” &nbsp;Such leadership is coercive and external.</span></div><div><span><br></span></div><div>Here is where the kindness of God is revealed. &nbsp;Being&nbsp;<span>a</span>&nbsp;Christian is <u>not</u>&nbsp;‘mindless obedience’.&nbsp;&nbsp;Our Leader <u>has ‘issued’ us a brain,</u>&nbsp;it is the Mind of Christ.</div><div><span>The Mind of Christ is nothing more or less than seeking to do the Father’s will. &nbsp;(see, John 6;38) To be in our ‘right’ mind, is to be in the Mind of Christ. &nbsp;Thinking for ourselves is spiritual insanity.</span></div><div><span><br></span></div><div><span>But, the leadership of the Holy Spirit is not external to the born-anew man. &nbsp;His ‘Leader’ (Jesus <u>by</u>&nbsp;the Spirit)</span></div><div><span>lives within him. &nbsp;The work of sanctification, being conformed to the image of Christ, is&nbsp;the welcome&nbsp;&nbsp;internalized presence of Christ Jesus within our very cleansed&nbsp;soul and within our very enlightened&nbsp;will.</span></div><div><span>He dwells in us in such a way that the born anew Believer now has a will to do the Father’s will.</span></div><div><span><br></span></div><div><span>Please note: &nbsp;The old nature, still retains the will of Satan. &nbsp;Remember we live with the war between heaven and hell raging now&nbsp;within our flesh. Old man v.
