<html><head></head><body><div><div><div>Romans 8;15-17<div><br></div><div><b>15. &nbsp;For you did not receive the spirit of slavery to fall back into fear, but you received the spirit of sonship. &nbsp;When we cry, “Abba, Father!”&nbsp;</b></div><div><b>16. &nbsp;it is the Spirit himself bearing witness with our spirit&nbsp;that we are children of God,</b></div><div><b>17. &nbsp;and if children, then heirs, heirs&nbsp;of God and fellow heirs&nbsp;with Christ, provided we suffer with him in order that we may also be glorified with him.</b></div><div><b><br></b></div><div>Our personal <i>“spirit”</i>&nbsp;may be ‘aligned’ (in agreement) with the will of the&nbsp;Father.&nbsp; Or,&nbsp;if we stubbornly and in fear (of serving God’s good will), we&nbsp;resist and disobey, then, our personal <i>“spirit”</i>&nbsp;is&nbsp;serving Satan and is opposed to God. &nbsp;</div><div><br></div><div>(We all are&nbsp;always serving either God or the devil. There&nbsp;is no other master.&nbsp; (The&nbsp;devil seeks to&nbsp;deceive us into thinking&nbsp;we are only&nbsp;serving ourselves, as&nbsp;our own little lords,&nbsp;but this is a lie. &nbsp;Doing our own stubborn, fearful will, is really obeying&nbsp;exactly what Satan wants.)</div><div><span>If we obey our fear, we remain slaves to sin, (</span><span>even if we are baptized Believers). Jesus sets the pr</span><span>ison</span><span>e</span><span>rs free,</span><span>&nbsp;stupid, free Christians turn around and re-ente</span><span>r their old&nbsp;</span><span>prison cells, even though the doors are open!</span></div><div><br></div><div>The <i>“spirit of sonship”</i>&nbsp;is actually the Mind of Christ. &nbsp;It is the will to do the Father’s will.</div><div><br></div><div>Therefore, our prayers&nbsp;are&nbsp;always to be&nbsp;aligned with Christ. &nbsp;“<i>Not my will, but Thine be done.” &nbsp;</i>(Matthew 26;39)</div><div><br></div><div>To pray, <i>“I<u>n Jesus’</u>&nbsp;name” </i>does not mean we pray selfishly and then tack on the end of our prayer, “in Jesus’ name, Amen.” &nbsp;It means we pray in the “spirit of sonship” always seeking the Father’s will to be done, even if that means our own&nbsp;martyrdom.</div><div><br></div><div>When we pray with the Mind of Christ, seeking only the Father’s will, we have the peace of God, the same peace Jesus had as he faced death on the cross. &nbsp;Such peace of God in our surrendered souls, is the witness of the Holy Spirit to our own hearts and minds that we are indeed God’s own children. &nbsp;By such divine peace, then Christ in us is strong. The “spirit of sonship” is actually the Mind of Christ.  It is the will to do the Father’s will.
Therefore, our prayers are always to be aligned with Christ.  “Not my will, but Thine be done.”  (Matthew 26;39)
