<html><head></head><body><div><div><div><div>Romans 8;22&amp;23</div><div><br></div><div><b>22. &nbsp;We know that the whole creation has been groaning in travail together until now;</b></div><div><b>23. &nbsp;and not only the creation, but we ourselves, who have the first fruits of the Spirit, grown inwardly as we wait for adoption as sons, the redemption of our bodies.</b></div><div><b><br></b></div><div>The heart, soul, mind, and spirit of the born-anew Believer, <u>is</u>&nbsp;all living now <u>in Christ</u>. &nbsp;The old sinful nature, (Paul calls the <i>“old self”</i>) has been buried with Christ in his death to sin, drowned in baptismal&nbsp;waters.</div><div><br></div><div>By our baptism into Christ, a separation has taken place between our born-anew man and our old self.</div><div>The born anew man, (who we really now are), is hid with Christ in God. &nbsp;The born anew man is holy, just as Christ is holy. &nbsp;</div><div><br></div><div>Holy means, <i>“separated, dedicated, devoted, and&nbsp;consecrated unto God.” &nbsp;</i>This is why marriage is often referred to as ‘holy matrimony,’ meaning belonging exclusively to only One other.</div><div><b><br></b></div><div>&nbsp;Our born anew&nbsp;heart, mind, soul, and spirit <u>are faithful</u>&nbsp;to God, (because they are created anew in Christ Jesus). &nbsp;(see, Ephesians 2;10)</div><div><span>Yet, the old nature abiding in our dying flesh, remains an unfaithful adulterer</span><span>. &nbsp;It is still in love with itself and the things of this world.</span></div><div><span></span></div><div><b><br></b></div><div>I like to refer to the <i>“old self”</i>&nbsp;as a spiritual zombi, who is dead, yet is&nbsp;still driven by sin, always seeking to overpower us.&nbsp; It is&nbsp;still serving sin, ever&nbsp;opposing God and the will&nbsp;of the born-anew workmanship of God, the ‘Believer.’</div><div><span>&nbsp;Christ by Word and Spirit, </span><u>is</u><span>&nbsp;indwelling us and is greater than the sin nature, but we in out thinking, mentally wander from our Lord, forgetting His presence. &nbsp;T</span><span>he born-anew man is undisciplined, still learning how to fully live in Christ. &nbsp;We&nbsp;</span><span>often loose</span><span> sight of the necessity of&nbsp;</span><span>constant dependence upon Christ indwelling us</span><span>.&nbsp;</span><span>&nbsp;Our faith focus is not perfected yet. &nbsp;We groan, because this earthly&nbsp;war is unending this side of heaven. &nbsp;</span></div><div><span><br></span></div><div><span>&nbsp;</span><span>L</span><span>ike Paul</span><span> in Romans 7, we sometimes think we are</span><span>&nbsp;able to resist the old self ourselves</span>, but, he is too strong for us. &nbsp;We fail to remember&nbsp;that we are in&nbsp;Christ, <span>and He is</span>&nbsp;abiding in us. &nbsp;Only in and with Christ are we&nbsp;able,&nbsp;empower in&nbsp;our forgiven members&nbsp;to obey the will of the Father. &nbsp; Walking by the Spirit, means we&nbsp;live mentally, intentionally,&nbsp;constantly, dependent, and in prayerful communion with Christ who truly is Emmanuel,&nbsp;<span>God with us.</span></div><div><span><br></span></div><div><span>There is a difference between being hugged or kissed by God, and by faith&nbsp;hugging and kissing God&nbsp;in return. &nbsp;Walking, by faith,&nbsp;ever dependent&nbsp;upon</span><span>&nbsp;Christ indwelling us by&nbsp;the Spirit, is how the born-anew Believer loves God back and is able to do the Father’s will. &nbsp;Such living is how Paul describes, <i>“the first fruits of the Spirit.”</i></span></div><div><span><i>&nbsp;</i></span></div><div><span>Praise God, the day is coming when we will be released from these bodies of death, our warfare will be ended, and our presence in and with Jesus will be perfected. &nbsp;But for now, we with all Creation, groan in the travail of living by <i>“the Law of the Spirit of life</i>&nbsp;<i><u>in Christ Jesus.</u>” &nbsp;</i>(Romans 8;2)</span></div><div><span><br></span></div><div><span>Prayer: &nbsp;Merciful Father, bless us to, <i>“make no provision for the flesh, to gratify its desires.” &nbsp;</i>Bless us to mentally, intentionally, constantly, <i>“put on the Lord Jesus Christ.” &nbsp; </i>(Romans 13;14). Romans 8;22&23
22.  We know that the whole creation has been groaning in travail together until now;23.  and not only the creation, but we ourselves, who have the first fruits of the Spirit, grown inwardly as we wait for adoption as sons, the redemption of our bodies.

 Like Paul in Romans 7, we sometimes think we are able to resist the old self ourselves, but, he is too strong for us.  We fail to remember that we are in Christ, and He is abiding in us.  Only in and with Christ are we able, empower in our forgiven members to obey the will of the Father.   Walking by the Spirit, means we live mentally, intentionally, constantly, dependent, and in prayerful communion with Christ who truly is Emmanuel, God with us.
