<html><head></head><body><div><div><div>Romans 8;24&amp;25<div><br></div><div><b>24. &nbsp;For in this hope we were saved. &nbsp;Now hope that is seen is not hope. &nbsp;For who hopes for what he sees?</b></div><div><b>25. &nbsp;But if we hope for what we do not see, we wait for it with patience.</b></div><div><br></div><div>What is the <i>“hope” </i>of Believers?</div><div><br></div><div>Certainly we in faith look forward to seeing our Lord Jesus in all His glory and splendor, face to face.</div><div>This ‘future’&nbsp;<i>“hope”&nbsp;</i>will be fulfilled either when we leave these bodies behind in the grave,&nbsp;or when our Lord returns for the&nbsp;Judgment of all flesh on the Last Day.</div><div><br></div><div>But, our <i>“hope” </i>also is a ‘present’ <i>“hope” </i>as well. &nbsp;Today, and every day we live&nbsp;in faith in Christ Jesus, we also have the <i>“hope” </i>of the <i>“Law of the Spirit of Life in Christ Jesus.” &nbsp;</i></div><div><i><br></i></div><div>This ‘present’&nbsp;<i>”hope” </i>is the hope of holy living, in and with Jesus. &nbsp;This is the <i>“hope” </i>of <i>“newness of Life.”</i></div><div>(Romans 6;4). &nbsp;It is the <i>“hope” </i>that, <i>“God is at work in you, both to will and to do according to His good pleasure.”</i>&nbsp;(Philippians 2;13)</div><div><br></div><div>In this ‘present’ <i>“hope” </i>we are, in Christ, empowered by the Spirit to, <i>“put to death the deeds of the body.”</i></div><div>(v.13) &nbsp;We are able to, <i>“deny ourselves, take up our crosses, and follow Jesus” </i>in<i>&nbsp;“the&nbsp;paths of righteousness.” &nbsp; </i>(Psalm 23;3)<i></i></div><div><br></div><div>Remember, we walk in the finished work of Christ. &nbsp;Our salvation is secure, we are God’s forgiven children, <i>“baptized <b><u>into&nbsp;</u></b><u>Christ Jesus”</u></i>.<i>&nbsp;</i>(Romans 6;3)</div><div><br></div><div>We live now in our ‘present’ <i>“hope” &nbsp;</i>of holy living, doing the will of the Father, believing Christ by the Spirit, is indwelling us.&nbsp; He is moment by moment,&nbsp;providing <i>“all things necessary.” &nbsp; </i>He is our<span>&nbsp;<i>“strength and our shield” </i>&nbsp;(Psalm 28;7, please read the whole of Psalm 28.)&nbsp;for us to show forth the love of God to our own forgiven souls and to the world around us.</span></div><div><br></div><div>This is what Peter refers to as being, <i>“partakers of&nbsp;the Divine Nature.” &nbsp;</i>(2 Peter 1;3&amp;4) &nbsp;This is our ‘present’ <i>“hope,” </i>&nbsp;holiness of life in the midst of our sufferings. &nbsp;Living in such <i>“hope” </i>can <u>only</u>&nbsp;happen, as we <i>“abide in Christ,—&nbsp;and&nbsp;we abide in His Word.” &nbsp;</i>(John 15;3-10)<i></i></div><div><br></div><div>Prayer: &nbsp;Merciful Father, bless us to understand our <i>“hope”</i> is not only a ‘future’ <i>“hope,” </i>&nbsp;but is also, and MUST be, a ‘present’ <i>“hope”</i>&nbsp;as well. Romans 8;24&25

What is the “hope” of Believers?
