The Elect obtained it, but the rest were hardened,</b></div><div><b>8. &nbsp;as it is written, “God gave them&nbsp;a spirit of stupor, eyes that should not see and ears that should not hear, down to this very day.”</b></div><div><b>9. &nbsp;And David says, “Let their feast become a snare and a trap, a pitfall, and a retribution for them;</b></div><div><b>10. &nbsp;l</b><b>et their eyes be dark and so that they cannot see, and bend their backs forever.”</b></div><div><br></div><div>There is only one way to come into the presence of God, through ‘perfect holiness.’</div><div><br></div><div>Even the High Priest, could&nbsp;only enter the Holy of Holies of the Tabernacle,&nbsp;(where God’s presence hovered over the Mercy Seat&nbsp;<span>b</span><span>etween the two golden Cherubim, on the Day of Atonement), wearing the High Priestly garments (see Hebrews 9;2-14, and Exodus 28) and bringing with him blood for his sins and the sins of the people.</span></div><div><span><br></span></div><div><span>This Levitical Law from God foreshadowed the ‘perfect righteousness’&nbsp;in which&nbsp;all Believers&nbsp;now minister. &nbsp;We&nbsp;by faith are&nbsp;serving the LORD God IN&nbsp;the righteousness of Christ,</span><span>&nbsp;carrying His own true blood, His Light and Life, His Word, the <i>“spirit of sonship” </i>by&nbsp;the Holy Spirit, into all the world and to all nations.</span></div><div><span><br></span></div><div><span>Christ alone has&nbsp;robed us with His very own self! &nbsp;(see, Ephesians 4;22-24, and Isaiah 61;10). He gives us His own true Body and Blood, and IN&nbsp;them, His own perfect fulfillment of the Law,&nbsp;His own Holiness, (Hebrews 4;14-16). &nbsp;Only by and through&nbsp;the very righteousness of Christ are we able to obtain (what the Jews in biological pride and flesh) sought,&nbsp;true ‘sonship,’ (see, Romans 8;14-16) and become inheritors of the promise of the glory of&nbsp;eternal life, in and with God Almighty.</span></div><div><span><br></span></div><div><span>This inheritance and sonship, the Jews sought to obtain by their own efforts at keeping the Law, much as did the Apostle Paul in Romans seven. &nbsp;Yet, scripture teaches, <i>“All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” &nbsp;</i>(Romans 3;23). <i>“They are justified by His grace as a gift, through the redemption which is in Christ Jesus.” &nbsp;</i>(Romans 3;24)</span></div><div><span><br></span></div><div><span>Man cannot save himself. &nbsp;Trying to do so is really an effort to take the place of God, (Satan’s rebellion, the first sin.)</span></div><div><span><br></span></div><div><span>Therefore, the LORD God gives to the Jews <i>“a spirit of stupor”. &nbsp;</i>So long as any&nbsp;man in his pride, foolishly seeks to please God, bringing&nbsp;into His presence&nbsp;their own man-made counterfeit righteousness, they will die eternally.</span></div><div><span><br></span></div><div><span>There is ONLY ONE WAY&nbsp;to come into His presence. &nbsp;It is&nbsp;through the&nbsp;‘perfect righteousness of God Himself IN&nbsp;Christ.’</span></div><div><span><br></span></div><div><span>This perfect righteousness of God, God Himself&nbsp;delights to freely&nbsp;give us through His&nbsp;gifts of repentance and&nbsp;faith. &nbsp;</span><span>This faith abandons hope in self. &nbsp;Instead, it&nbsp;trusts and&nbsp;believes&nbsp;in the Father’s&nbsp;great&nbsp;mercy to sinners. Romans 11;7-10
7.  What then? Israel failed to obtain what it sought. There is only one way to come into the presence of God, through ‘perfect holiness.’

This Levitical Law from God foreshadowed the ‘perfect righteousness’ in which all Believers now minister.  We by faith are serving the LORD God IN the righteousness of Christ, carrying His own true blood, His Light and Life, His Word, the “spirit of sonship” by the Holy Spirit, into all the world and to all nations.
Christ alone has robed us with His very own self!  (see, Ephesians 4;22-24, and Isaiah 61;10). He gives us His own true Body and Blood, and IN them, His own perfect fulfillment of the Law, His own Holiness, (Hebrews 4;14-16).  Only by and through the very righteousness of Christ are we able to obtain (what the Jews in biological pride and flesh) sought, true ‘sonship,’ (see, Romans 8;14-16) and become inheritors of the promise of the glory of eternal life, in and with God Almighty.
This inheritance and sonship, the Jews sought to obtain by their own efforts at keeping the Law, much as did the Apostle Paul in Romans seven.  Yet, scripture teaches, “All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.”  (Romans 3;23). “They are justified by His grace as a gift, through the redemption which is in Christ Jesus.”  (Romans 3;24)
