<html><head></head><body><div><div><div>Romans 11;17-21<div><br></div><div><b>17. &nbsp;But if some of the branches were broken off, and you, a wild&nbsp;olive shoot, were grafted in their place to share the richness of the olive tree,</b></div><div><b>18. &nbsp;do not boast over the branches. &nbsp;If you boast, remember&nbsp;it is not you that support the root, but the root&nbsp;that supports you.</b></div><div><b>19. &nbsp;You will say, “Branches were broken off so that I might be grafted in.”</b></div><div><b>20. &nbsp;That is true. They were broken off because of their unbelief, but you stand fast only through faith. So do not become proud, but stand in awe.</b></div><div><b>21. &nbsp;For if God did not spare the natural branches, neither will he spare you.</b></div><div><b><br></b></div><div>We seldom look at a tree and admire its’ roots. &nbsp;No, we admire the form of the tree, its’&nbsp;symmetry, the shape, size and colors of the leaves, the girth of the trunk,&nbsp;the texture of the bark, and of course its’ blossoms, fragrance, and fruit. &nbsp;</div><div><br></div><div>The roots are seldom considered, they are&nbsp;hidden from our admiration. &nbsp;We can only guess at&nbsp;their form, depth, and strength.</div><div>Yet, the roots support and supply the tree so that it&nbsp;can be all that we do see and admire. &nbsp;Without the hidden roots the tree does not exist. &nbsp;</div><div><br></div><div>In the same way our personal devotional life, our time spent with our Lord in His living Word, serves as the roots which support and supply the life which others do see.</div><div><br></div><div>The <i>“tree”</i>&nbsp;of Psalm 1&nbsp;is <i>“planted by streams of water, its’ leaves do not wither, it yields if fruit in it season”</i></div><div>Isaiah speaks also&nbsp;of the <i>“oaks of righteousness, the&nbsp;planting of the LORD, that he may be glorified.”&nbsp;</i></div><div><i>&nbsp;</i>(Isaiah 61;3)</div><div><br></div><div>Paul here in today’s reading desires that we, the Church of all Believers are the Tree. &nbsp;The believing Jews who were dedicated to bringing forth the Messiah from their midst, who were enlightened by the prophets,</div><div>are our root system. &nbsp;We the New Testament Church, draw life and find support from prophetic&nbsp;Jewish roots and the “Rose in Midst of Winter,” Jesus, the fruit of the Promise, He is the Woman’s Seed, the fruit of the tree of the cross. &nbsp;</div><div><br></div><div>It is only through faith in Him, that we now have been made to partake of&nbsp;the Tree of Life. &nbsp;That Tree is not hidden from those who believe, it is there, in your hand, the very living Word of God.</div><div><br></div><div>Our place in the Tree of Life is only given to broken-hearted, contrite, forgiven, believing children.</div><div>The very life of God flows through the branches of&nbsp;our veins. &nbsp;Our fruit is spiritual reproduction, the spreading of the Seed,&nbsp;produced&nbsp;now to the glory of the Father, flowering with fragrant, sweet fruits of good works.&nbsp;</div><div>This fruit happens naturally as we are branches well attached, abiding in Christ by Word and Spirit.</div><div><br></div><div>Prayer: &nbsp;Merciful Father, as You have grafted us into the prophetic promise of the Woman’s seed, grant that the old<span>&nbsp;Serpent’s head woul</span><span>d be crushed by the weight of tree of the cross and its’ Holy Fruit, Jesus;&nbsp;and we in Him&nbsp;bear to Your glory,&nbsp;the fruits of faith forever. &nbsp;In Jesus we pray, Amen.</span></div><div><span><br></span></div><div><span>Love,</span></div><div><span>Dad/Baba/Eric(Kilmer)/ Grandpa Pickle Pastor</span></div><div>“A chapter a day, every day, progressively, be transformed, ‘soak’ in the living Word. &nbsp;God’s Word is our habitation, and we are His.”</div><div><br></div><div><b>“Trees” &nbsp;&nbsp;</b><span>by Joyce Kilmer,&nbsp;</span></div><div>(a male relative of mine,&nbsp;killed on the Western Front&nbsp;by a sniper,&nbsp;July 30, 1918,&nbsp;WW1)</div><div><br></div><div>I Think that I shall never see</div><div>A poem lovely as a tree.</div><div><br></div><div>A tree whose hungry mouth is prest</div><div>Against the earth’s sweet&nbsp;flowing breast;</div><div><br></div><div>A tree that looks at God all day,</div><div>And lifts her leafy arms to pray;</div><div><br></div><div>A tree&nbsp;that may in Summer wear</div><div>A nest of robins in her hair;</div><div><br></div><div>Upon whose bosom snow has lain;</div><div>Who intimately lives with rain.</div><div><br></div><div>Poems are made by fools like me,</div><div>But only God can make a tree.</div><div><br></div><div><br><br><br><div><a href="https://mail.onelink.me/107872968?pid=nativeplacement&amp;c=Global_Acquisition_YMktg_315_Internal_EmailSignature&amp;af_sub1=Acquisition&amp;af_sub2=Global_YMktg&amp;af_sub3=&amp;af_sub4=100000604&amp;af_sub5=EmailSignature__Static_" rel="nofollow" target="_blank"></a><br></div></div></div></div></div></body></html>
