<html><head></head><body><div><div><div>Remans 12;2<div><br></div><div><b>2. &nbsp;Do not be conformed to this world but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that you may prove what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.</b></div><div><br></div><div><br>The world ‘presses,’ ‘<span>pressures,</span><span>’ ‘crushes’ us to outwardly be like itself.</span></div><div><span>The living Word of God internally changes us to become one with Him.</span></div><div><span><br></span></div><div><span>The word <i>“prove” </i>is used here by Paul in the sense of ‘testing’ to see the purity or strength&nbsp;of the substance.</span></div><div><span>Just as liqueur is proofed to see its’ alcohol content, or a</span><span>&nbsp;firearm</span><span>&nbsp;is ‘proofed’ by over-loading and igniting the powder</span><span>&nbsp;to see if it can withstand the force of the&nbsp;</span><span>powder. &nbsp;&nbsp;</span></div><div><span><br></span></div><div><span>The Truth of God’s Word applied, tested, lived out in&nbsp;our lives, proves its’ worth and power.</span></div><div><span><br></span></div><div><span>Paul is essentially saying&nbsp;learn what God’s&nbsp;&nbsp;truth and will is, then live it out in your own life, and see what beautiful blessings come to you. &nbsp;This also suggests a type of evangelism, <i>‘proving’ </i>so as to show the world the worth of allowing the Word of God to change you.</span></div><div><span><br></span></div><div><span>In Greek the word <i>‘transformed’ </i>and <i>‘repent’ </i>are very closely related.</span></div><div><span>Transformed is: META-MO-FA-O, (meaning to be changed)&nbsp;</span></div><div><span>Repent is: META-NO-E-O, (meaning to ‘think’ differently)</span></div><div><span><br></span></div><div>The word ‘Metamorphosis,’ (a crawling earth-bound worm, a&nbsp;caterpillar, becoming&nbsp;<span>a</span>&nbsp;beautiful butterfly,&nbsp;able with its wings to seemingly float upon the breezes)&nbsp;is based upon these Greek words.</div><div><br><div><i>“For the word of God is living in active, sharper than a two edge sword, piercing to the division of soul and spirit, of joint and Marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart.
