No, “If your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him drink; for&nbsp;by so doing you will eat burning coals&nbsp;upon his head.”</b></div><div><b>21. &nbsp;Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.</b></div><div><b><br></b></div><div>Evil can be overcome, but not with human strength.</div><div><br></div><div>Paul writes, <i>“For I know that nothing good dwells within me, that is, in my flesh. I can will what is right, but I cannot do it. I do not do the good I want, but the evil I do not want is what I do.” </i>(Romans 7;18&amp;19)</div><div><br></div><div>We desire to do good, but the law of sin and death still residing in our&nbsp;flesh, is stronger than our own sanctified will. &nbsp;Paul calls himself a <i>“wretched man” </i>(v.24), meaning, being a forgiven Believer and wanting to serve the Lord’s will, but finding that another power greater than our own will constantly prevents us is indeed a wretched condition, miserable in fact.</div><div><br></div><div>Our good loving Heavenly Father has established for us another Law, which supersedes the law of sin and death in our flesh, our <i>“old-self.” &nbsp;</i></div><div><i><br></i></div><div>This greater Law is called, <i>“The Law of the Spirit of Life <b>IN Christ Jesus.</b>” &nbsp;</i>(Romans 8;2)&nbsp;</div><div><br></div><div>It means we live now by faith&nbsp;in Him who is the only <i>“Good” </i>Jesus.&nbsp;&nbsp;</div><div><br></div><div><i>“ And a ruler asked him, “Good teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?” &nbsp;And Jesus said to him, “Why do you call me good? No one is good, but God alone.” &nbsp;</i>(Luke 18;18&amp;19)</div><div><br></div><div>As we have been baptized <b>into </b>Christ, (Romans 6;3) we have been made to dwell in Him who is the only&nbsp;<i>“Good.”</i></div><div><i><br></i></div><div>We overcome evil, not by what is in us (that is our flesh, our own&nbsp;good intentions), but by Him who we are&nbsp;in.</div><div><i>“I can do all things IN HIM&nbsp;who strengthens me.” &nbsp;</i>(Philippians 4;13)</div><div><br></div><div>Living in Christ, in the Mind of Christ, is done only by faith. &nbsp;<i>“ I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I&nbsp;&nbsp;who live, but Christ who lives in me; and the life I now live in the flash, I<u>&nbsp;live by faith</u>&nbsp;in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.” </i>(Galatians 2;20)</div><div><br></div><div>Walking by the Spirit, is such, ‘faith walking.’ &nbsp;Our every <i>“good”&nbsp;</i>thought, word, and act is now the very love of God Himself,&nbsp;who animates us, whose love fills our hearts. (Romans 5;5). Romans 12;12-21
