Do not let what you eat, cause the ruin of one for whom Christ died.</b></div><div><b>16. &nbsp;So do not let what is good to you be spoken of as evil.</b></div><div><b>17. &nbsp;For the kingdom of God does not mean food and drink, but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit;</b></div><div><b>18. &nbsp;he who thus&nbsp;serves Christ is acceptable to God and approved by men.</b></div><div><b><br></b></div><div>Restricting our freedom to eat or drink out of loving concern for a weaker brother or sister is pleasing to God.</div><div>If by eating or drinking, we temp another to commit sin, to violate their conscience, we are not walking in love. &nbsp;Therefore, we are to love one another well enough so as to be aware of their weaknesses.</div><div>In public, the best practice is abstinence of what others consider sinful, even if you know it is not sinful (so long as it is partaken of in moderation).</div><div><br></div><div>The most important verse here to hold on to is, <i>“ For the kingdom of God does not mean food and drink, but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit;” </i>(v.17)</div><div><br></div><div>Our flesh craves food and drink, these may be received with pleasure and thanksgiving in moderation, but they are not what walking by the Holy spiritual is all about. &nbsp;The real joy of Christ is found in the inner-man who dwells in Christ and&nbsp;in whom Christ dwells. &nbsp;Self-control, self-denial born out of love for others is how we partake of the Divine Nature and of the Joy of the Lord Jesus.</div><div><br></div><div>Temporal pleasures are just that, temporary, they do not endure. &nbsp;Divine pleasure is eternal, it abides in and with us.</div><div><br></div><div>Prayer: &nbsp;Merciful Father,&nbsp;we are called to put no stumbling block in the way of a weaker brother’s&nbsp;walk of faith.
