Everything is indeed clean, but it is wrong for anyone to make others fall by what he eats;</b></div><div><b>21. &nbsp;It is right not to eat meat or drink wine or do anything that makes your brother stumble.</b></div><div><b>22. &nbsp;The faith that you have, keep between yourself and God; happy is he who has no reason to judge himself for what he approves.</b></div><div><b>23. &nbsp;But he who has doubts is condemned, if he eats, because he does not act from faith; for whatever does not proceed from faith is sin.</b></div><div><b><br></b></div><div>Verse 23. Is a radical call to our souls, to belong wholly to God only.</div><div><br></div><div>The gift of faith which God has given is intended to penetrate to every&nbsp;corner of our being and fill our minds and lives with divine joy and peace.</div><div><br></div><div>Christianity which <i>“makes provision </i>(gives&nbsp;priority to personal desires)&nbsp;<i>for the flesh” </i>is not loving God with all our heart.</div><div>We are to have, <i>“No other gods.” &nbsp;</i>No thing, no pursuit, no pleasure, no personal plans are ever to take God’s rightful place in our hearts.</div><div>God&nbsp;indeed gives us fleshly provisions of ‘daily bread.’ &nbsp;“<i>Everything which belongs to the support and needs of the body.” </i>(Luther’s Small Catechism, Explanation to the Fourth Petition of the Lord’s Prayer)</div><div>But, earthly pleasures, possessions, and plans, (no matter how noble in our own thoughts) must all be laid at the throne of God. &nbsp;We belong to Him, we are His possession.
